*Past Captains* .
The past Captains trophy, which was to be contested on 21st June, has been postponed. It will now be contested in September. There were
past captains who unfortunately couldn't make it on the 21st So, I have made
the decision to move it.
Congrats to James "Wanna raffle Ticket" Lauchlan on a fine win against the tricky Cannington team on Thursday. See Interclub Matches.

2 from 3 Stableford
a stunning gross 77 from Nick Gabb, who kept a 6 off his card and scoring over 40 on his own , including a 'two' was not quite enough to steal the win from Phil Hunt and his two South American Amigos.
What a busy day & week as fresh from Challenge Cup yesterday and Cannington Thursday..in the rain ?
There was a Mole-in-One on 6th hole but the person/creature that consumes its head did not seek publicity. It was to be the pinnacle of his short life. Also busy in Summer Knockout.
Mark Cording took out Roger Davis
Richard was Forced-ta concede as he was Be-Hind to Roger after 19th Hole
The Huntsman v Eric the Cornishman
KEITH won 8 &6
Dave Mugridge & Jamie Parkhouse tango on Friday
Big clash was Siabi/ Heath versus Asquith/Hussey and despite David re-modelling the mathematics a few times - James & Barrie advanced.
Seen here approaching 14th with James 1 up..until David sank a 20-footer...

JUNE / JULY UPDATE
Seniors
Some administration points as we move into summer & events begin
to come at us apace.
Captains Away Day
Those seniors who have paid their £10 deposit for the captains
away day at Isle of Wedmore, need to pay the outstanding
balance of £36 & those that still haven’t paid their
deposit need to pay £46. to Keith Branchflower by the 21st June.
This is the day that I have to give final numbers to the club
for food and tee times etc.
Captains Charity Open Day
Thank you to the seniors members that have sponsored a hole
for the charity. My charity SSAFA will have a gazebo on the
course all week, please give it a visit as you pass by.
With a great deal of effort from Clive Fisk and myself we have
managed to get 2 main sponsors (Bill Butters windows, and
Poundbury Wealth) we have managed to persuade 1 other
business to also sponsor a hole on the day. The other 10 holes
have been sponsored by individuals also the Freemasons and
the Royal Navy Veterans (11 Holes sponsored) If anyone else
would like to sponsor a hole it would be greatly appreciated.
You could get a few guys to share the cost and your names will
be on the banner on the accompanying hole.
Looking on Golf Empire the take up from teams outside of
Cricket has been relatively poor. Despite a lot of effort from
James Siabi via email and match captains pushing other clubs at
friendly matches. Those seniors who have put together a team
on the notice board 1 team has paid & booked in. Could the
other 3 teams please nominate someone to collect the entrance
fee and book in at the pro shop or online. There is also the
makings of a 5th home team but another couple of players are
needed.
As with most of our events we would be looking for donations
for the raffle. These can be given to any committee member
at any time.
On the day there will be a halfway house and donations of cakes, biscuits, savouries, juice etc. would also be appreciated
(the day before would great)
On the day the 8th hole will have a “Beat the professional”
if you get nearer the pin than him then you will receive a prize.
The banner on the hole will tell you how much a go.
There will be no roll-ups during the festival week 15th-19th July
3. Friendly match team sheets are on the notice board for June and
sign up sheets for July are also up on the notice board.
Matches that have already been played, the return matches arenow coming around and those that played in the first leg will
be expected to play again. Please check your diaries.
