Monday 3rd June 2024

Felt guilty seeing Dougie Oliver sat there unable to play as there were no buggies available - after displaying pic of new fleet on Friday - all had been booked by a Society from Tiverton.

Busy Roll-Up for this popular format - being drawn last, JKP & co didn't tee-off until after 10:00 but we were kept well entertained.

John Wandless shocked the men building the Trackman facility as his Prov1 sailed over their heads with 'a bit of a slice' - JW proudly announced  that he had  "avoided the caravan" ...

In the Summer KO,

Chris Gingell took out the dogged Stuart Pope who was getting 8 shots - and smiling as he passed us on 5th being 2-Up ..but Chris ground-out the win.

Cool Golfer Ian Frost was 1-up over Good-Evans after amen-corner and went on the win the match.,

Despite JW slice on 1st and Charlie being unable to find his drive - they strolled back and took Paul England's Tee shot to Bogie the 1st.

After 14 Holes - JW & Co were one shot behind Jeremy's Trio   Gross 54 against Jeremy's 53.

Then on 15th & 16th came a 4-shot swing.

JW scored Birdie - Birdie  - the15th was hardest hole of the day according to Computer so the Birdie 3 was outstanding.

JB scored Bogey-Bogey so their 1 shot lead was now a 3 shot deficit..

Jeremy stepped it up a level and Eagled the 17th with a 2 - Two  strokes reclaimed...

Both Teams made par on 18th and JW , CS & PE claimed the Prize.

First effects of the new Balcony were clear as large groups were out in the Sunshine to see us come up the 18th.

Also on the 18th was Lyndsey Gage, whom we've not seen for a couple of years - sitting in this new Buggy which he had driven up from Chard via Chaffcombe . ( apparently the de-facto Mayor of Chaff had Ok'd the trip. Lyndsey has IBM syndrome,

Inclusion Body Myositis- which is a degenerative Muscle wastage nasty little very rare syndrome.

But, having spent 50 years with his head in other peoples sewage pipes with his drain-clearage business - he was sure to pick up something unusual.

We also hear Dickie Hall's return has been delayed after a fall whilst watching his Grandson play cricket - and broke his arm.

Dickie says that due to the 'Medication' he never felt a thing...
