Guidelines for Seniors Competitions

1 Two from Three or Four (Discard & Yellow ball)

a. 2 from 3 or 4

Played as a Stableford with best 2 points scores on each hole to count.

No minimum Drive requirement.

Players to play off 85% of the course handicap (2 from 3 or 2 from 4) & 100% (3 from 4) except when a specific maximum handicap is set for the competition.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or birdies the money goes into the prize money.

b. 2 from 3 Discard

Played as a Stableford with best 2 point scores on each hole to count. Discard the score from one Par 3, one par 4 and one par 5.

Holes 4,5,9,11 & 15 scores as par 5s*

*These changed pars only apply to the competition not the sweep).

No minimum drive requirement.

Players to play off 85% the course handicap except when a specific maximum handicap is set for the competition.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or birdies the money goes into the prize money.

c. 3 from 3

Played as a team Stableford all scores to count.

            Players to play off 100% the course handicap except when a specific maximum handicap is set for the competition.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or birdies the money goes into the prize money.

d. 2 from 3 Yellow Ball (1-2-3) with 3 Yellow balls

Played as a 2 from 3 Stableford with the yellow ball used by player A on the first hole, player B on the second hole and player C on the third hole. Repeat this sequence for the remaining holes

The Score with yellow ball counts double.

Each player has one Yellow ball.

Record on the card where any Yellow ball is lost.

Note: - After a three minute search or if a ball that is out of bounds is considered to be lost.

Players to play off 85% the course handicap except when a specific maximum handicap is set for the competition.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or birdies the money goes into the prize money.

e 2 from 3 Yellow Ball (1-2-3) with 1 Yellow ball

Played as a 2 from 3 Stableford with the yellow ball used by player A on the first hole, player B on the second hole and player C on the third hole. Repeat this sequence for the remaining holes

The Score with yellow ball counts double.

There is only one Yellow ball.

Record on the card where the Yellow ball is lost.

Note: - After a three minute search or if a ball that is out of bounds is considered to be lost.

2 Bowmakers

a Bowmaker – 3 Ball Stableford - (1-2-3) Holes

Stableford played with one score to count over the first 6 holes (1 – 6), 2 to count over the next 6 holes (7 – 12) and 3 to count over the last 6 holes (13 – 18).

Players to play off 85% of the course handicap except when a specific maximum handicap is set for the competition.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or birdies the money goes into the prize money.

b Bowmaker 3 Ball Stableford - (3-2-1) Holes

Stableford played with all scores to count over the first 6 holes (1 – 6), 2 to count over the next 6 holes (7 – 12) and one to count over the last 6 holes (13 – 18).

Players to play off 85% of the course handicap except when a specific maximum handicap is set for the competition.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or birdies the money goes into the prize money.

c 3 Ball Stableford - (1-2-3) S/I

Stableford played with 1 score to count on S/I holes (1 – 6), 2 scores to count on S/I holes (7 - 12), and 3 scores to count on S/I holes (13 – 18).

Players to play off 85% of the course handicap except when a specific maximum handicap is set for the competition.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or birdies the money goes into the prize money.

d 3 Ball Stableford - (3-2-1) S/I

Stableford played with 3 scores to count on S/I holes (1 - 6), 2 scores to count on S/I holes (7 - 12), and 1 score to count on S/I holes (13 - 18).

Players to play off 85% of the course handicap except when a specific maximum handicap is set for the competition.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or birdies the money goes into the prize money.

e 3 Ball Stableford - 1-2-3 Par Scores

       Stableford with 1 score to count on Par 5's,  2 to count on Par 4's and 3 to count on Par 3's.

Players to play off 85% of the course handicap except when a specific maximum handicap is set for the competition.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or birdies the money goes into the prize money.

f 3 Ball Stableford - (3-2-1) Par Scores

Stableford with 3 scores to count on Par 5's, 2 to count on Par 4's and 1 to count on Par 3's.

Players to play off 85% of the course handicap except when a specific maximum handicap is set for the competition.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or birdies the money goes into the prize money.

g 3 Ball Stableford Waltz (1-2-3 sequence)

Stableford with 1 score to count on the first hole, 2 scores on the second and 3 scores to count on the third. This is sequence repeated over the remaining 15 holes.

Players to play off 85% of the course handicap except when a specific maximum handicap is set for the competition.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or birdies the money goes into the prize money.

h 3 Ball Stableford Reverse Waltz ( 3- 2- 1 sequence)

Stableford with 3 score to count on the first hole, 2 scores on the second and 1 scores to count on the third. This is repeated sequence over the remaining 15 holes.

Players to play off 85% of the course handicap except when a specific maximum handicap is set for the competition.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or birdies the money goes into the prize money.

3 Fourball Better Ball

a Fourball Better Ball Stableford

Pair’s competition with the best score (Stableford points) count.

Players to play off 85% of the course handicap except when a specific maximum handicap is set for the competition.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or birdies the money goes into the prize money.

b Fourball Better Ball Medal

Pair’s competition with the best nett score to count.

Players to play off 85% of the course handicap except when a specific maximum handicap is set for the competition.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or birdies the money goes into the prize money.

4 Texas Scramble

General Rules

All players play for the tee. Select which ball you as a team choose to play from. Mark it. Then whoever's ball it is plays first. The rest of the team then play from that spot. (place within 6 inches on the fairways, drop within 6 inches through the green.)

In Bunkers balls may be placed within 6” not nearer the hole. It is permitted to rake the area after each shot is played.

When a ball is replaced within 6 inches it is permitted to move from one surface to another, ie rough to fairway, fringe to green. A ball that is in a penalty area or a bunker must remain in that area.

In order to save time a player may substitute a ball

a Four Man Texas Scramble

Minimum of Four drives per person.

Handicap allowance 30%/20%/10% from lowest to highest course handicaps.

To be scored as a Medal

Clearly indicate on the card who drove each hole.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no two or orirdie the money goes into the prize money.

b Three Man Texas Scramble

Minimum of Five or Six drives per person.

Handicap allowance 30%/20%/10% from lowest to highest course handicaps.

To be scored as a Medal.

Clearly indicate on the card who drove each hole.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or

 birdies the money goes into the prize money.

c Two Man Texas Scramble

Minimum of Seven Eight or Nine drives per person.

Handicap allowance 35% form the lowest course handicap and 15%/ from the highest course hanicap.

To be scored as a Medal

Clearly indicate on the card who drove each hole.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or

 birdies the money goes into the prize money.

5 Greensome’s and Foursome's

a Greensome’s Stableford

Teams of two to be scored as a Stableford

Both players drive off, then select which drive to take then continue to play alternate shots to complete the hole.

Handicap:- 60% of the low course handicap and 40% of the high course handicap.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or

 birdies the money goes into the prize money.

b Greensome’s Medal

Teams of two to be scored as a Medal

Both players drive off, then select which drive to take then continue to play alternate shots to complete the hole.

Handicap:- 60% of the low course handicap and 40% of the high course handicap.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or

 birdies the money goes into the prize money.

c Canadian Greensome’s Stableford

Teams of two to be scored as a Stableford

Both players drive off and play their second shots, then select which ball to take then continue

 to play alternate shots to complete the hole.

Handicap:- 60% of the low course handicap and 40% of the high course handicap.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or

 birdies the money goes into the prize money.

d Canadian Greensome’s Medal

Teams of two to be scored as a Medal

Both players drive off and play their second shots, then select which ball to take then continue to play alternate shots to complete the hole.

Handicap:- 60% of the low course handicap and 40% of the high course handicap.

e Foursome's Stableford

Teams of two to be scored as a Stableford

One player drives off and then continue to play alternate shots to complete the hole.

Player one drives on the odd numbered holes and player two drives on all the even numbered

 holes.

Handicap:- 50% of combined course handicap.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or

 birdies the money goes into the prize money.

Foursome's Medal

g Teams of two to be scored as a Medal

One player drives off and then continue to play alternate shots to complete the hole.

Player one drives on the odd numbered holes and player two drives on all the even numbered

 holes.

Handicap:- 50% of combined course handicap.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or

 birdies the money goes into the prize money.

6 Four Ball Medalford

a Four Ball Medalford

Two players play Betterball Medal (recording their nett score)

The other two players play Betterball Stableford (recording their Stableford points).

Subtract the Stableford point from the Medal nett score.

Players to play off 85% of the course handicap except when a specific maximum handicap is set for the competition.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or birdies the money goes into the prize money.

b Four Ball Medalford Switch

Two players play Betterball Medal (recording their nett score) for the first nine holes then

 switch to playing Stableford for the second nine (recording their Stableford points).

The other two players play Betterball Stableford (recording their Stableford points) for the first

 nine holes then switch to playing Medal for the second nine (recording their nett score).

Add both Medal scores together then add both Stableford points together. Subtract the

 Stableford total from the Medal total.

Players to play off 85% of the course handicap except when a specific maximum handicap is set for the competition.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or birdies the money goes into the prize money.

7 Seniors Club Championship

a Seniors Championship and Handicap Championship

Medal to be played off the white tees.

Seniors gross if the scores are tied after 18 holes a play off starting on the first hole over two

 holes (one and two). If still level continue hole 3, 4 and 5 sudden death. If still level play holes

 1 to 5 again sudden death until there's a winner.

Handicap championship if tied to be decided on countback.

Handicap:- 95% of course handicap.

The sweep is twos and if there are no twos then birdies will be used. If there are no twos or birdies the money goes into the prize money.
