Senior’s Open 3 man
scramble

Appreciation also to John Pearce for a very long day and his technical work , Keith our treasurer who was helpful in all areas of need as well as all other seniors who had helped to make this day a very successful day. Let’s not forget Bob Barrow who was mightily impressed by the quality of cards returned and somehow disappointed that no one could be disqualified. Up on my request to scrutinise the last home team’s card who were threat to the Captain’s team 3rd place position, he came up with a blank.
The course was prepared immaculately by Dave and his team. A big thank you to them and would like to pass the compliments of all the visiting teams to them. It seemed that putting was a big issue for most ( welcome to my world) with greens performing extremely fast at least for those who started late.
Now back to golf. From the results it was apparent that the early starters managed the slight wet conditions better than those who went out later and had to deal with blistering winds that was getting stronger as the day progressed. One surprising thing was the performance of the away teams who somehow managed to score better than the home teams.
Prizes were allocated for 1st £60 each player, 2nd £40 each and 3rd £20 each for home and away teams.
Well done Mike, Tony and Alan for winning the home section and John Evans and his two away mates Graham and Richard for winning the away section.
