August Monthly Stableford

Sixty eight Seniors played in August's monthly stableford on a fine warm day with the field
divided into three divisions. This was the day that the Club had mistakenly inserted a society into
the middle of our morning and although many of our players teed off later than usual the
anticipated chaos did not occur and the speed of play was acceptable.
The best score of the day came from division two with Burt Robinson scoring a brilliant
42 points. Mark Cording won division one with 39 points and Neil Cochran secured division
three with 39 points. Full results are listed on the Club website and here is a breakdown of
the prize money remembering that the amounts are dependent on the numbers playing per
division.

Division One  0 to 16 (21)            Division Two   17 to 25 (33)           Division Three 26 and over (14)
1st Mark Cording 39 £10.50        Herbert Robinson 42 £14.85        Neil Cochran 38 £7.00
2nd James Siabi 37 £6.30             Chris Andrews 41 £8.25                Bernard Skeels 38 £4.20
3rd Tony Church 37 £4.20           Mark Sanders 40 £6.60                 Ted Bryden 36 £2.80
4th ---                                             David Smith 37 £3.30                   ---

There were four '2s' Chris Andrews 2nd, Richard Forster 9th, Phil Dewar 9th, and James Siabi
on hole 18. Eagles are always a great way to get a '2'! but they only receive the same and pay
£8.50 each.

Qualifiers result in handicap adjustments and the major moves are as follows:-

In                                                    Out
Burt Robinson 23 to 21                   Chris Hiam 29 to 30
Mark Sanders 24 to 23                    Mick Aldridge 27 to 28
Chris Andrews 20 to 18                   Ian Fielder 22 to 23
                                                           Alastair Purcell 20 to 21

Thanks to everyone for their patience on the day, there was a little bit of watering
of greens later on which could have been construed as altering the playing conditions but
I think it was hardly touching the surface.
