FRIDAY 30TH
AUGUST 2019
Canadian Greensomes.
Yellow Tees, Medal, 3/8th
Combined Handicap.
Again sheer volume of players caused hold ups and slow play in parts.
Most Seniors understand that it is a product of our success as a group that numbers are increasing and some patience is required.
That said, if groups see that they are holding up people behind, and that they are constantly waiting to play we have to allow them through.
It is not acceptable to say ' Well they are not going anywhere' and ignore them.
I receive regular complaints and I feel incumbent to pass them on but it upsets me as I seem to be moaning every report and I hate it!
Please be more considerate to others and realise how lucky we are to be out in fresh air playing a game we love.
Great score today by Barrie Heath and Chris Hiam, a nett 66.88 saw off a strong challenge with three other pairs within one shot.
Full results below, 12 birdies paid the round sum of £1 each.
Thanks to Geoff Dean who volunteered to play a rolling stableford...but bravely had to walk as there were no buggies available. Brian Hodder had no option but to go home as he was unable to walk the course.

Thanks to Dave Mugridge for the picture of Maurice Arnold's shot to the 2nd, which as they walked up to the green they thought was in as it was hidden by the pin...
Captain & Vice approach the 8th, James elects to play ball just short of the bunker....ignore the caption as the ball near Peter was James's ball...
.....but doesn't quite make it....
