Seniors Mixed Open Tuesday 11th June
.,,,followed by Yellow ball Roll Up
After 24 hours of heavy rain the Seniors Mixed Open was still able to go ahead, which is a great testament to all the hard work the green keeping staff have done this year. The weather forecast for the day was still not good, causing 3 away pairs to cancel, thus reducing the field down to 26 pairs.
Light showers and a cold wind greeted the early starters, but the weather did improve slightly, with those at the end of the field returning the better scores. Peter SF went out last, and with a great deal of help from Janet, produced a superb score, well ahead of the field.
A big thank you for all of those who gave up their time to help (you know who you are) in producing an terrific day, especially Donna the Ladies Captain. The comments from all the visiting pairs were extremely complimentary, especially the condition of the course, and the excellent food, and all are looking forward to next year’s event.
Home players, get your partner booked up early, as there are a limited number of ladies in our club.

Pretty Quiet on Wednesday Roll-Up with many away at Wareham, Challenge Cup Tomorrow at East Devon, Mixed Open yesterday - so it was just the unloved and unwashed that Rolled-Up and a pretty nice day overall as it gradually warmed up.
Peter ( who of course won the open) is processing the cards, that ranged from 78 through to 104 ( with 113 being your Par target) -
Mark Cording send YB 1 OOB on the 1st with his 2nd Shot.
Dave Mugridge survived to the 3rd hole ( although their 6th as they started on 16) - but Tee Shot was OOB after a casual lay-up shot.
Ian Fielder's first ( and last) contribution as Middle-Handicapper was to send it OOB on the 4th Hole.
Roger Davis was caught out on the 10th Hole when they bade farewell to the Yellow.
So just 4 Teams retained the yellow , 2 early & 2 late - and scores ranged from 92 to 104 with Roger Hinds looking rather shocked at being declared the winning captain after they had messed up several holes, but obviously less than others. Geoff contributed a handy couple of 6-pointers with his 36 Handicap.

Ted sitting quietly in the bar, looking forward to a nice drive home in his VW GTX Coupe Ghia Deluxe
Until he realised his key were in his Golf Bag, inside the car..but for some reason the car was locked and wouldn't let him in, whereas it should be keyless and allow him entry...
