Stableford Qualifier

Twenty-four seniors turned out today for Aprils' Monthly Stableford played in two divisions. The weather held, as forecasted, long enough for members to get round before the rain and sleet arrived.
As in what seems to be a common situation there was some confusion in the pro shop with regards to pairings and tee times. Apparently there was a last minute rush with people cancelling because it might rain and many trying to get a slot because they had not entered in time.
I am at a loss as to how we can change matters, everyone will just need to be patient in the knowledge it always sorts its self out in the end.
Course conditions were tricky as fairways had been scarified and the greens continue to be bumpy and slow. No trouble however for Dave Mugridge who was the run away winner of Division One outstripping everyone with a gross score of 72  and amassing 42 points.

Well done to Nobby Hodder who wins Division Two with a more realistic total of 35 points.

There are a few handicap revisions to be noted:-

Down      Dave Mugridge     Previous 8    now 7
Jeremy Blackburn Previous 14   now 13

Up          Chris Gingell          Previous 9     now 10
               Peter S-Farr         Previous  20    now (embarrassingly) 21

There was only the one Two registered which went to Ian Griffiths on the 13th hole.

As a post script and following the message from Ian Housham to everyone on Monday can I take this opportunity of wishing Ian a speedy return to full health and fitness.
Popular and sociable I am sure he would have been a fine Captain for 2020. Maybe he can fulfil the role at a future time. Peter SF.
