Challenge Cup at Dainton Park

As a result I totally forgot about the Nearest the Pin competition. As quite a few teams had already teed off we decided to pull two cards out of the pack that had a par on any of the par 3 holes as winners.
We had a well attended Challenge Cup day at Dainton Park. 45
eager players turned up in a day that started with fairly heavy rain and
thankfully at half way stage conditions got a lot better and even sun shone.
There were some good scores, some not so good and quite a
few indifferent. The most important event of the day was a personal match
between Sir Bob Barrow and myself which I am glad to report that I won on count
back. He did threaten to disqualify me on the next event if I said anything but
it is worth it. May be by giving him a
title will make him go easy on me.
Well done Danny, David M and Nick H who won the top three
prizes. You can collect your prizes from Bob if he hasn’t drunk them all after
losing his match. Lol
J Wandless and C Basterfield were the winners of the two NTP
prizes
Thank you all for putting up with me. Things can only get
better and that is a promise.
