Mates Day 2 from 4 Stableford
Happy Good Friday

What a lovely little Roll-Up that was on the most gorgeous day, passing 22 Degrees at times.

Only 3 turned up  for the Early slot, so they just did their own thing, with Mr John Bonney joining them after a long battle to get back to fitness.

The 08:45 group were sitting there nice and casual, happy to have an informal draw...until the numbers continued to rise and the cards became necessary. Captain & Vice were both on parade and as numbers went past 22, he agreed to let The Chicken-Farmer Mr. Screwfix  play their Summer Knockout where Chris Hiam overcame Richard Forster 5 & 3 we believe.

...so the draw was done with a perfect 20 names..until Ian Fielder leapt up and shouted 'Where's my name ?, I've been here for half an hour!'  ...but unfortunately didn't spot that everyone else was paying their £1 Entry and sliding up their card...but fortunately we have a Captain that is more Sir Peter Scott that Spencer-Farr and he stood aside and entered the Club Easter bonnet comp, which he won easily as they thought he was wearing and Easter-Egg type hat !

Amazingly the Draw produced all those from the 'H' slot in Team 1, then all the 'B's' in team 2, EFGH in Team 3 etc.

We were able to free up several slots for the Club as it looked a busy day out there.

So the 2 from 4 Stableford should have produced a par Score of around 72, but Nobby & Co smashed that out of the park

Farmer Bob was examining the cards and Nobby's contribution of 36 on just 13 Holes with 5 blanks. Nobby attempted to prevent Bob handing the card to Frank by protesting 'yes, but I could of scored on the other 5 but someone else had 3 points !

AS we left, the normally polite Nick Hill asked me if my team only had 3 players !

We have several things to add over the weekend - a letter from Stuart looking for sponsors for the Charity Day on May 2nd and a note from the Captain to push the St George's Day bash on Friday 26th April (not forgetting the Fish & Chips on the same evening) - The captain had asked us to mention Red, White & Blue until it was pointed out that The Blue only came 372 Years AFTER the Dragon ate St. George.

88 Points and untouchable today..JKP has Mick's money

2018 Club Captain Mark Barry  joins the 'B's' but just beat Normski on back 9

Playing off 34 handicap...Nobby is a popular team member !

JKP has Pete's £3 Senior Subs...another handy 15 handicapper joins our ranks

Legends in their own minds.....but just out of the winners enclosure today
