Friday Mates Day: Good Friday
The Club have given us Tee Times so let's try not to waste them.

It's a Mate's day, so others are welcome to join us.
Roger suggests we play a 2 from 4 Stableford so that we can maybe free up some times at the end. There are several 4-balls booked around us and it should be fairly quick.
If early numbers are uneven, we can quickly even you up with early 09:00 folk.
If we ignore Birdies and just make it a £1 Entry which we will pay out to winners directly.
Don't think the Captain will be up as he's played most days this week
and likes chocolate !
Info from Ray
I'm not sure if Pete Strawbridge played much in the Seniors, but he was a member of Windy from the 70's, and will be remembered by some of our Members who were here then.

SOMERSET SENIORS BOWL
CST Seniors ably Captained by Ian Griffiths visited
Cannington GC today to play
In the First Round of the Somerset Bowl (Seniors) against
The Isle of Wedmore.
Wedmore as expected, fielded a strong team, however our
team proved a good match for them in a close fought match.
The course was in good conditions, with fast running
greens.
RESULT :
Rod Stevens / Mike Hone Lost 4 and 3
Danny Dowell / Steve Southgate Lost 1 Down
Dave Mugridge / Bob Barrow Lost
1 Down
Roger Hinds / John Twose Won 4 and 3
John Wandless / Mark Cording Won 2 Up
Team Lost 3 games to 2
Roger Davis / Ian Griffiths played in the Reserve match
and had a good Half
Harper 3 Towns
In memory of Ken & Keith Harper
The Harper's Competition is virtually the only competition, apart
from the Seniors knockout, that we play in the Match play format.
I thought that with hundreds of years of golfing experience
between us all, that although it was a three way tie, we could work out who won
or lost against one another and consequently shared the points, 2 for a win, 1
for a half, 0 for a loss.
I did get myself into a tizzy when from all sides it
seemed very few understood how it worked. It was pointed out however that many
never play Matchplay and so it was alien, so apologies if I was pontificating.
As it was, everything came out in the wash and the scores were
allocated correctly.
Over recent years Chard have won the Cup but this time Crewkerne stormed to a huge winning margin, matching the other two teams added together. As this was a team game each of the Crewkerne players,
if they won or lost receive £6.
Well done everyone, this was a glorious day and who knows next
year the format may change again!
