Another good day to be alive! Shorts were in evidence, won't be
long before we will be complaining about the heat and the green staff will be doing overtime watering.
Forty two players
took part in a progressive Bowmaker. Most people think this is much the
better type of Bowmaker as it allows slow starters to warm up
before all three scores are to count.
Winning Stableford scoring was
anticipated to be in the 80 points range however, perhaps because the greens
were bumpy and tricky, 76pts was the score to beat.
Nice to see John Sweet and
Nobby Hodder, our high handicappers, steered by Terry Rutherford in the winners
enclosure.
Eight birdies were achieved.
Ken Trott continued his return to the
fold by returning a medal card and can now be given his new handicap and join
in our competitions.
Bob Barrow did have an occasion to DQ one card because the card
was not completed correctly. Yes seems harsh but we all have to learn or
one day it could cost a loss on a big occasion.
