Axe Cliff Match Report - played on 6th

Everyone had doubts that this match could go ahead bearing in mind the overnight rain and gale force winds.
In fact there was a road diversion en-route because of floods but we completed the games without getting too wet.
Conditions were difficult however and not for the faint-hearted. When driving the ball, keeping it on a tee was near impossible. No excuses however, same for everyone and Axe Cliff were just too strong and beat us four matches to two.
You guys set the Bar
mighty High
I must say that Axe Cliff is a very friendly club that do things correctly. Despite what appears to be limited resources they set the bar high ...

When it comes to the nicely produced welcoming card, team sheet and score cards and when coupled with a good meal and pleasant ambiance makes for a great fixture.

Nearest the pin for our team on their seventh hole was Barrie Heath. Being against the wind and able to convert it into a two was a great effort.

We drew last year but this time :-

Roger Stone and Bob Barrow won 2 & 1
Ian Griffiths and Alan Chance won 1 Up.
Martin Bargery and Peter Spencer-Farr lost 2 & 1.
Barry Singleton and Chris Gingell lost 4 & 3.
Roger Davis and Barrie Heath lost 5 & 4.
James Siabi and Terry Rutherford lost 2 & 1.

Result Lost 4 - 2.

Next up Bridport G. C., need to do better!.

Peter Spencer- Farr Capt.
