Turkey Trot Cancelled

BLIND AUCTION ( Reminder - still time to get your bid in....)

Gentlemen, our fellow senior golfer Ray Gudge has very kindly sourced and given me a golf 'carry' bag  to auction for

my chosen charity Guide Dogs for The Blind. This is not a new bag or of a recognised brand but it is in good condition.

He has also included twelve quality golf balls of various manufacture, but mostly Titleist. Very soon, when winter strikes and trolleys are banned,  we all will be required to carry.  This is an opportunity to acquire an inexpensive bag and support a good cause. Anyone interested please place your bid in a sealed envelope and put it into the Seniors' post box in the changing room. Closing date will be Friday 14th December.

Thank you. Peter S.F.

Unfortunately the Turkey Trot was cancelled today. The Captain was gratified that a large number of members turned up to play even though it had been raining heavily overnight. Nine hardy souls ventured out to play the top 9 holes but there were as many who declined the offer even though it was bright and very sunny by 09:30. As I write a short but heavy shower has just rained down.

I have to report that Ted Bryden has been re-admitted to hospital with an infection. Our thoughts are with him.

Also Mac Everett recently felt ill on the course. He spent some time in hospital, but I understand that he now recovering and is receiving therapy  at home.
