Friday 30th November

3 Man Team Reverse Bowmaker
1st6 -3 to count, 2nd 6 -2 to count, 3rd 6 -1 to count

Lucky again today with the weather after yesterday's downpours. The course was surprisingly dry and playable with only the greens challenging. However just a warning the slopes are extremely slippery,
I managed to take off at the side of the 11th green and had time to think that it was going to hurt before I actually landed.

39 seniors (12/27) contested todays reverse Bowmaker with three additional people finishing off November’s Rolling Stableford Competition. The full results are shown below with a breakdown of each six holes of play making  it easy to see where the game was won or lost.

 Result of Novembers' Rolling Stableford.

Less entrants this month, probably because of the indifferent weather  but again it might be that playing numbers meant we rarely had the odd number.

The  Overall Winner was Dave Taylor with 37 points  £7.00

Runner Up was Bert Robinson with 34 points  £3.50

Congratulations chaps,

Extra Note / Request:
Monthly schedule does ask players to complete a 2nd card in 3 or 4 man formats. It would have saved us phone calls/delays today as we had to query one card where a score had been changed and it was difficult to verify the reason. As usual the card was significant and affected the leader board.  It's very handy at the end to check the 2 cards align properly. Obviously in other formats we have the 'Markers' column which does this job.

BLIND AUCTION

Gentlemen, our fellow senior golfer Ray Gudge has very kindly sourced and given me a golf 'carry' bag  to auction for

my chosen charity Guide Dogs for The Blind. This is not a new bag or of a recognised brand but it is in good condition.

He has also included twelve quality golf balls of various manufacture, but mostly Titleist. Very soon, when winter strikes and trolleys are banned,  we all will be required to carry.  This is an opportunity to acquire an inexpensive bag and support a good cause. Anyone interested please place your bid in a sealed envelope and put it into the Seniors' post box in the changing room. Closing date will be Friday 14th December.

Thank you. Peter S.F.

Good news from the Ted Bryden camp as he was in & out on 28th after his surgery and is back home with Judith.

Dickie did the November Raffle, with Captain choosing the numbers.
Alan Davis won the Trio of Fine Wines
Frankie won the quad of Guinness
Ian Fielder won the Tin of Chocolates
..as another £150 tickets were sold.

..will add name for our newest when I remember ( Did card for handicap today)

but his 6 here was enough to keep them on track for the win
Jeremy had shouted a clear 'Four'  as his 4th from 4th sailed over the trees landed on 1st tee. Ronnie wandered up oblivious, saying 'What was all that shouting about'....but to be fair he was a little distracted as his team scored 1 point of first 2 holes...but had the best last 6 holes of any team- go figure !

Frank misses on 14th ..but poor Mid-Six had cost them any chance of winning.

but dropping 11 shots to Par on front 6 was too much of a handicap today

High drama was witnessed on 12th as Bert's Trolley was accelerating from 13th Tee towards the fence as Billy leapt into action and save the day..but modestly denied being a hero...

..but amazingly we've been able to re-create the scene as if Billy wasn't there....
