We are also collecting donations of wine, chocolates etc for the Raffle, downstairs in the Pro Shop.

We look forward to seeing you all there.

As the wind and rain thwarted all but the very brave. Don't think any Seniors ventured out..unless Mr Hone proves me wrong.

Well done to Alex who had the Course Status updated by 07:30.

Mick Hill paid me his £3.00 and was given his fixture card. Spare cards in Filing Cabinet for Keith.

Otherwise around 8 or 9 sat around solving the Brexit Issues.

Des was fortunate to arrive and was inundated with his raffle Prizes from Monday.

Ian put on a Puppet show for us...well he had a hand in it at least.

whereas Des was particularly pleased to win some of Stuart's finest Chutney.

The sensible ones just stayed at home.

Monday 26th Novembers
Seniors & Ladies Christmas Cracker

The Weather Gods smiled today after a recent spell of rough conditions. Sixty-two players including eighteen ladies played in the annual Christmas Cracker Salver. There were more seniors entries than available ladies so, as this was a charitable occasion, three all- male teams headed the field. It is a testament to the standard of our lady players that none of those all-gents teams were in the winning groups.

As usual there was a magnificent response to the request for raffle prizes and the fine total of £263 was raised for charity. This was split equally between Guide Dogs and Newlife.

A big thanks must go to June and Dave Hutchins who ran the raffle to such a great effect.

Furthermore the running buffet which followed the golf was very well received, The catering for this type of function is truly back to a high standard following the return of our Head Chef Andy.

This augurs very well for the future!

So to the results. The very first mixed group out for the day of Martin Leigh, Mick Aldridge and Rosa Atkinson won the, fifteen hole, two from three, competition with a fine total of 68 points They receive a box of luxury crackers and £8 each into their club account but most importantly the coveted trophy.

Well Done. Runners Up were Nick Hill, Charles Vane-Percy and Rita Denman with 67 points each winning Crackers and £6 into their funds. Nearest the pin on our hole sixteen was, for the ladies, Rita and for the Seniors Martin Bargery. Martin kindly not only contributed a number of bottles of wine to the raffle but also returned his prize for a future event. Cheers.

The full results with how everyone fared is listed below:-

This was the first large event of my Captain's Year and I must thank everyone who helped to make this the success I feel it was, Especially so to Bob who scrutinized the cards to Keith who looked after all the cash, to Nick H. who found and polished the Salver and J.P who took all the fun pictures.

Last but not least a huge thank-you to the Ladies themselves who turned out in fine numbers to make it a memorable occasion and to Donna Adey ( Ladies Captain) who must take great credit for organizing her flock and helping the day run so smoothly.

Peter Spencer-Farr Seniors Captain.
