Wednesday 6th December
4BBB Winter League Round 3 of 8

Peter 3-Names ( our Vice-Captain) is having his knee replacement as we speak, it is expected to take longer than normal as they can only source sufficiently bowed ones from the Mid-West of America around Dodge City.

Jan reports he is doing well,
providing they keep the Drugs coming !

Also being asked about Desmond Denning...are you out there Des ?

Firstly apologies about a conflict between the Yearly Card and the December Schedule.
The next round of the Winter League has been confirmed by Captain & League Manager ( Alan Davis) as Friday 15th December.

Second an apology from Captain .

Hi , I was going to mention today that two of the guys from the Turkey Trot on 1st December that I named & shamed I.E. David Taylor & Alastair Purcell did hand their cards into the pro shop for Sean/Aaron to enter which they did eventually but for some reason then went missing.
So humble apologies to David & Alastair.

23 teams played today although only 42 players as four teams played with one player,(marked in red). Again for the time of year we had very good conditions apart from the last few teams who I believe caught a heavy shower over the last few holes.

There were six birdies today paying £1.75 per person

.B. Heath Capt.
We did have an unfortunate situation with one card that had to be DQ as it was incorrectly filled out, IE columns A B C & D had been used for scoring only two players, this was not an easy decision but after speaking to 2 or 3 more knowledgeable people I felt that if we let this one go through what other mistakes do we ignore.

So this card was deemed unacceptable.

whereas this card was ideal.

The 4BBB Teams got underway and were followed by the Roll-Up whose numbers seemed to changed from 7, through 8,9,10 as latecomers arrived. So they went out in 3's to play a Hassle and Stuart was deemed just too late but was offered an Individual slot, but with the rain over the horizon, Stu took the sensible option.

Martin Teamed up with Mike H & Nick G and carded a respectable 65.
Behind them came Keith, Mick A and Sir Victor who managed 1 under Par 69.
Unsurprisingly the Team of Danny, Chris B and John W were  a few shots below with a very nice 61 considering the conditions and the waiting around that gradually built after about 10 holes.
£3 each was paid to the Victors.

Our round was about 4 Hrs 15 Mins, but it seemed worse than that as the rain increased.
Franks stories got more and more profound as we stood and chatted.
He mentioned the beautiful House Sign he had crafted for his neighbour from clay dug from under Mt Vesuvius softened with water from the Nile to proudly display "Southlake Cottage"- apparently a name unique in the UK.....
..but not unique enough as a week later it was stolen.

We then ran into Lyndsey on the 12th hole revelled in his captive audience.

George & Roger on 15th heading for the Day's best score of 44.

..and it got quite dark...

Greens keepers were busy being artistic on the 11th Tee, with advanced carpentry being performed.
