3-Ball Hassle

Just in from Roger
Today 16 Seniors from CST  travelled to Minehead G.C to take part in the
2017 Minehead GC Seniors Challenge Trophy.

The conditions were calm and the greens slightly firmer than when we normally play at Minehead.

CST entered two teams A and B.

Team A :
R.Stone & N.Clarke, A.Davis & J.Wandless, A.Beale & L.Gage, J.Siabi &J.Evans     4BBB Score 148 Points

 Team B :
G.Wallace & A.Chance, R.Davis &S.Pope, M.King & P.S-Farr, F.Martin &B.Barrow  4BBB Score 158 Points

Again the A Team had to give way to the B Team which cost each player a £1 coin,
on the side bet on the days overall team score.

Main Results :  1st Tiverton  168 Points with a better back 9

                         2nd Long Sutton   168 Points

                         3rd  Minehead       163 Points

Best Pairs score  AWAY  Tiverton  46 Points

Best Pairs score  HOME  Minehead  44 Points

I would like to thank all those players that represented CST today and thank them all for their efforts.
R.J.S (Seniors Captain)

Back to Roll-Up.....
18 Early Birds and 30 late starters played the 3-Ball Hassle today plus 3 playing the Rolling Stableford,
all played in lovely sunshine with no wind at all although it was a few degrees cooler.

Chris, Danny & Ian

We did use the call through on the second which did help with the bottleneck on that hole but there
were still moans about taking nearly five hours to play a hassle.

Lots of moaning as we left Clubhouse about use of 60% of Lowest Handicap - so I spent a few hours recalculating the results based on 1/6th Combined and guess what, Top 6 were still the Top 6, albeit shuffled.

The same people that used to moan that "Danny always wins Hassle as he can take every shot" - now argue that it is all wrong to take 60% of lowest by coming up with hypothetical numbers that would shoot holes in most formats, ie "What if you had Three 5 Handicappers" etc.
We do our best to come up with resolutions to previous complaints, this is a simple format, meant to be enjoyed and removing the Texas pressure of having to get drives in. We are sorry to have caused so many of you to have had  such a traumatic Day.
AGM is in 9 Days, so you can present your solution at that Meeting...but I bet we don't hear too much !
I'm not sure that rounds took '5 Hours'. You can't take your scheduled start time on 16th as your scheduled TeeTime on 1st is actually about 40 Minutes later.

Just ask the Ladies as they patiently followed us...well apart from Mari Wandless whose shriek caught our attention as she all but sunk her approach shot to the 12th.

The ball can just be seen behind the pin.
