Vice Captains Match Report vs Enmore 27/10/2017
(away)
First the
good bits the weather was fantastic the course was in very good condition
although
the greens were slow which caught some of us out, as they had been treated with sand about a week or so ago and they now needed a cut.

Unfortunately
Enmore had their revenge on us as we beat them at home 5/2.

(vice Captain)
The
Captain, although not playing was
informed that play was extremely slow, up to 5
Hours to play a three man team format. This is
Far Too Slow , especially in a Texas
Scramble.
In
future, when the Tee on the second hole is at the winter position, for the
purposes of
Seniors Roll Up Competitions, please use this
hole as a” CALL THROUGH” hole. This
will
hopefully ease the situation somewhat.
It
was also reported that the grass off the fairways was quite long, therefore
finding golf
balls was quite hard. It must be appreciated
that the greenkeepers ,trying to cut
grass
when conditions under foot is very wet is quite difficult, without leaving wet
cut grass
Today
there were six Two’s paying £4.75 per “2” therefore £1.50 per person per “2”

JKP has to print apology to Mr Wallis who has received numerous phone calls wishing him well with his combined heart & lung surgery. Apparently I oversimplified his Physiology and thought they would just do both jobs 'whilst they were in there'.
Both a Heart Valve Repair and a Nodule Removal from his Lungs have to be done and Monday is his final consultation to work out the Care Plan etc
Mr Wallis was, however, extremely impressed as to how many well-wishers had taken the trouble to call him and thanks you all...well except for the one who asked if he could have his buggy.
Today, he played his little heart out and also sank a putt for the Two which was very welcome by his playing partners. His Tee-Shirt is standard Musgrove Pre-Op issue.
