2nd October Roll Up Report
CYDER CUP Fourballs
After the weekend of little or no rain, the first round of the Cyder Cup went ahead with minimal hitches, the course was open, however wet in places, and we were allowed to use buggies which was a great relief as if buggies had been banned some matches would have had to play the top nine holes only allowing buggy users to walk the top holes. There were some minor alterations as one player failed to turn up and didn’t have the decency to phone the club to let them know. Another players wife phoned to say the her husband was not well and would have to pull out of todays and Wednesdays pairings. Luckily we had one spare person to take his place. ( This is the correct way to report non attendance ).
Players found the greens still difficult to putt on however there is already signs of new growth on the greens, meaning they will soon be recovered, but as winter is just round the corner, the cutters will be set for winter length greens, so maybe we will have to adjust our putting to suit.
There were some good scores in, and to some players, taking part in Matchplay Format was something different.

A gentle reminder if you find you can’t play on the day Please,Please, ring the Pros Shop and let them know so last minute adjustments can be made to the start list if spare players are available.
By not phoning in, it not only let yourself down, but it causes a lot of grief to your playing partners and the organiser.
We are thinking of introducing some means of punishment for any future non appearances without a good reason.
