Wednesday 17th  July 2024

Good morning all, firstly, thank you to all the Seniors and Ladies who helped out yesterday to make the day a success. Those that took part, I hope you enjoyed the day. Total raised on the day and from event and hole sponsorship and activities came to :-

 £3606.00 a fantastic amount.

I thought the course was in fantastic condition and have contacted the green keepers thanking them for their efforts. Matt from the pro shop did a Sterling job on the 8th raising £307 with only being beaten 6 times out of 63.

Those Seniors who sponsored a hole, if you would like your banner, then please let me know by Monday, once again thank you🏌️‍♂️

Andy Rowland - Seniors Captain

Thanks to David Asquith for sending us the full results.

Congrats to Gordon & Dave; Roger & Mark; Jeremy & Dennis; David & Clive

Only 4 Teams reached 40 Points

3 of them were in The Untouchables

Good Evans and Steve Southgate blasted 43 ..and caught the Handicappers eye.

At 08:40 Sir Clive Fisk and Lord Asquith were on the first Tee..3 Hours 17 Minutes the Golf was over as their Team of 8 set a Total no-one was going to get close to all day.

With some tricky angled pin positions and the greens having been 'ironed' they were so fast on some holes that return putts were often longer than the approach putts...or the balls ran through the greens.

Tough - but as always there are players that it suits ands they certainly shone today. Not all totals are in yet, but we'll be amazed if this total is beaten.

What makes us unique?

We’ve been supporting the Armed Forces for more than 130 years. We support thousands of people in the UK and on military bases around the world. But it’s not just this that makes us unique.

The needs of serving men and women and of veterans are becoming more diverse as the world and military landscape changes. So we work hard to make sure our services are flexible. We constantly adapt them to fit with people we support and what they need. This means we can offer everyone we work with a range of tailored services to help them navigate life in and beyond the military.

SSAFA works in partnership with other military charities and specialist organisations to ensure that those who turn to us for help get the support they need.

& Friday is The Whole Club Day with a Mixed 4-Ball Texas Scramble - with plenty of tee-times still available.

We see a few Teams have entered from our group- but plenty of space for more entries - It's 4-Person so anyone can play, don't have to be Seniors etc
