A Message from the Captain Gentlemen, in the past there have been attempts to organise a seniors function at the end of the golfing season (November) some have come to fruition, but others haven’t.
Last years captain John Wandless managed to organise a function with the ladies at Hornsbury Mill.
As this year’s Captain, I personally do not intend to organise a function of similar nature. I am mindful of the cost to seniors, as last year’s entertainment cost were minimal as they were from John’s charity.
To that end the club have proposed to hold a function at the end of the golfing season (end of September, beginning of October) that they hope will be attended by members of all sections at Cricket St. Thomas.
Basically the main club, the seniors and the ladies sections. It will be more of a casual affair rather than anything formal. The format is still in the early stages but when I have any information, I will pass it on. Please let me have your thoughts on this. OR, if there is anyone who would like to take on the organisation of a seniors function then please speak to me or Keith and we can go from there.

Teign Valley Closure
Another golf club has gone the way of Farringdon.

You might have heard that Teign Valley golf course is closing its doors on 31st October this year.
There have been rumblings for some time that change was coming but it’s now a fact. The whole site is this be restructured as a family holiday cum wellbeing destination to include a golf facility of 12 holes (8 par threes and 4 par 4s) with forecast opening date of 2026.
A lot I of of people have left already, more will follow as the membership year ends on 30th April. As a result we will find it extremely difficult to put out a team and so are calling time on our 2024 scheduled inter club matches.
We will miss you, your seniors section, the banter and wish you a very successful season.
