Sunday Update:-

Norman, J-Mac & JKP are going up to the Club on Tuesday 11th around 13:00.

Project is to restore the 'Starter Hut' which is a little the worse for wear. I believe Seniors ( Stuart Maybe_arranged donation of the original one)

Door has fallen off, roof leaks, clock stopped, window smashed ,  needs a coat preserver etc etc

we'd love your help if you could spare us an hour or so.

See the source image

Norman has the roof felt, J-Mac has some Mesh to replace the window ( keeps getting hit) - JKP has T-Hinges, screws etc.

Can you offer a half tin of Preservative, think we can dig up some brushes. Thanks Steve

I'm sure we can find enough to keep us busy for an hour or two and scruffy dress is the order of the day.

Captain & his Team are busy with their NHS Charity Week and he has secured a tasty prize from good friends of ours at Poundbury, Katie & Co.

Gentlemen, the weather was almost perfect for scoring but the course held its own, with scores below expectations.     The bunkers being back in play certainly made a difference to the Vice Captain's team.    On the 5th, generally accepted to be one of easiest holes, the team score was zero.    Both Danny and I were in the front right bunker yet failed to score, PSF avoided the bunker but his drive went about 20 yards and into the hedge.    The winners Messrs. Davis, Mugridge and Hodder mastered the format with 77 points.    Nobby personally scoring 38 pts and being on the card on every hole except the 17th.   Roger had a creditable 36 pts and their third member in his own words "didn't do so well".    Runners up with 74 points was the Captain, Roger "I am gradually returning to form" Hinds and John " it's been a long time since I played" MacOmish.  Apparently they didn't hole a putt but obviously Paul England; Albie Benaim; Derek Gardener and Martin Bargery did,  as they were the only four to record 2's for their teams.

1st.   Roger Davis - Dave Mugridge - Nobby Hodder          77 pts

2nd. James Siabi - Roger Hinds - John Macomish.            74 pts

3rd.  Richard Hall - Andrew Beale -  Kenneth Trott.            73 pts

4th.  Roger Stone - Paul England - Robert Rees.                72 pts

5th.  Jerry Stephens - Albie Benaim - Richard Dines.        70 pts

6th.  Peter Spencer-Farr - Mark Cording - Danny Dowell  70 pts

7th.  Mark Sanders - David Asquith - Roger Withers.         68 pts

8th.  Bob Barrow - John Pearce - Bill Hilson.                       68 pts

9th.  Andy Rowland - Derek Gardener - Ed Paoloni.           68 pts

10th Alan Chance - John Evans - Mark Coleman.               68 pts

11th. Eric Smallwood - Tony Stenhouse - Martin Putland.  66 pts

12th. Ian Housham -  Martin Bargery- Mike Hone.              63 pts

13th. Nick Hill - Mike Dawson - George Willerton.               53 pts

Have a good weekend one and all, Monday sees the Super Seniors Cup followed by a roll up.    The Marquee will be open and with half price food, so hopefully the scores will be better with some fuel in our systems.   Don't forget to enter the Challenge Cup and Seniors Championship either on-line or via the pro-shop.

Mark Cording

Vice Captain

Monday is a Triple 6 Medley Stableford - Pairs format - see Roll-Up Page for details.

Well done to the Early Birds who huddled on the Tee without an obvious Leader and Lisa trying to keep them moving and collecting names ( Club must always know who is playing under Covid Regs)  with 2 Societies following on behind the Seniors.  All the cards were collated and monies deposited for Keith in Pro Shop, with Jerry, Albie & Richard being the leading Team.

We have to be oh-so careful at the moment with the microscope on us vis-a-vis Tee Times. One Society was the regular Honiton Winery Owners Club, but the 2nd group did not impress us on arrival, obviously much younger,  and we saw at least 8 gathered in a tight bunch by the tailgate of a Toyota Pick-Up... not a great advert for anyone passing !
