2 Man Texas Scramble

Hello Everyone

We have a busy schedule ahead. Before I report on yesterday’s event, like to put up a bit of moan about the way my fellow seniors have been receptive of what I have been trying to do. I put a lot of effort into making arrangements, setting up apps and competitions to make your golf more interesting and exciting (believe me we need a bit of excitement at the moment) and not only the uptake hasn’t been great but is not taken  seriously by those who have joined in. If in your opinion it is deemed as unnecessary to do what I have been doing, then say so and I will not waste a lot of time organising events. That is off my chest, so let’s get on with the task on hand.

 

Don't worry James, the silent majority fully support you, keep the faith.

Seniors Summer Knockout events (Singles & Pairs) are due to take place from Next Friday. On Fridays, we will be playing the singles event and on Mondays, the pairs event. I have put a list up of all the participants that have registered for either or both events. We need more. A separate message is posted regarding this. Please let me know if you would like to participate.

 

As you know every Wednesday we are going to have a qualifier alternating between Stableford and Medal. This Wednesday we are playing Medal. If you want in, text “Qualifier” to 07810880530.

 

Yesterday we had 2 ball Scramble. As per bookings from the club’s site, I had 16 teams setup to compete, but we only had 11 recording scores. Here are the results

..Talking about stitching it all together - opportunity from Peter 3-Names below - Everyone should be driving around with masks available  in their cars these days - part of your Emergency Equipment...

"I have a Neighbour who has been making 'material' face masks for local distribution, proceeds going to charity.

Another well-organised event by the Captain as up to 30 pair-up for a 2 man Scramble. Some were on VPar, some did it manually, but it would be a good pairing to beat this card....

Jeremy's Gross Scores have tumbled over the past couple of Years -

..but so has his handicap down to 12.5.

Not everyone participated, several groups did their own thing..

..some broad shoulders were required....

Amazing how many new names are appearing in the Seniors, mainly in the WhatsApp Phone Group - CST Seniors..I have seen the following lately...

As a special treat - Tomorrow we will feature a typical Roll-Up Session, where the Captain

 ( PSF) welcomes us to 2019 and attempts to explain the new Golf Rules - 

..don't you just miss those days -

 but how we are going to convince our other halves - that Golf will revert from 3 Hours and 

back home by 11:30 to 

5 Hours, a couple of Beers and see you around 3 O'clock - could be tricky...

Have you entered the Captain's 2 new Competitions yet - see blog from a couple of days ago.

1.       Individual summer knockout to be played on Fridays

2.       Two man team (randomly drawn) knockout to be played on Mondays.  

He has (by popular demand) modified the Team event to enable you to make your own pairings if you wish - ( some of us are still all alone) - so please tell the Captain if you want to participate - they will be Matchplay Format (I think) - and open to everybody and we'd love as many as possible to join in - it's great fun and our Superstars ( Yes, like Jeremy) - never enjoy giving away all those shots to our high-handicappers which produces some unexpected results - follow instructions from original post or contact James Siabi on  james@higrade.com
