Storm Dennis Texas Scramble
Are we lucky ot what !
There was a tremendous squall at around 05:00 that we thought would curtail any Golf, as it had done all day Sat & Sunday.
When the morning update came from the Greenkeepers you could hear engines being started all over Somerset.
Nobby graciously stood aside to allow three 3-balls to go out and play a scramble over the 15 holes that were open, with 9 Temporaries, 1,2,3,4,6,11,16,17,18.
Excellent Draw with the 3 lowest handicappers in different teams so allowances ended up 6.33, 6.33 and 8.5.
Barrow/Mugridge/Pearce started well by birdying the 1st and continued with 4 Birdies and 1 Bogey.
They finished with a Nett 49.67- taking the £9.00 Pot
Siabi/Cording/Leigh had one of each on the first 3 holes, Par, Birdie, Bogey but recovered with a splendid Birdie on the 4th into the wind.
They finished with a Nett 50.67- and took £1.50 each for the "2"
Stevens/Davis/ Hall managed to bogey the 2nd and the 11th , but with just a single Birdie they fell behind, with a Nett score of 51.5 they left with nothing...
For Keith Branchmanager, all monies paid out.
At 08:20 there was just Nobby and Roger on show with 5 Earlies out on the Course.

The Three Gross scores of 56, 57 & 60 meant the same order was held after the handicaps were subtracted.
The Bogeys for the Captain's team on 3rd & 15th just cost them today.
