Winter League Round 6

Friday 14th February 2020

Winter League Round 6

The rescheduled Winter League Round 6 saw the leaders increase their lead even further which requires a lot of effort and concentration on behalf of the closest chasers in order to top the table provided that the leaders crumble.  It is never finished until it is finished. With one round to go and two bad rounds to be ditched realistically speaking only one of two teams have a chance of overtaking the leaders now.

Once again we managed to avoid rain and finished our rounds before rain came in. Some good scores with only two teams finishing over par. The star of the day was David Asquith who played on his own and scored 40 points and a 2 which is an improvement on his previous round (2 from 3) where he scored 39 points. Well done Dave but be aware that Frank has his eyes on you.

There were three 2’s Winners and scores are as follows:

1st    Stuart Pope & John Evans 42 points B3 £6.00 each
2nd   Frank Martin & Barrie Heath 42 points £4.50 each
3rd   Mark Cording & Dave Mugridge 41 points £3.00 each

There were three 2’s by the following teams 2’S Each
James Siabi & Steve Holt 1 £2.25
Dave Mugridge & Mark Cording 1 £2.25
David Asquith 1 £4.50

Earlier 9 seniors turned up for the rollup and played individual stableford. Mark Sanders outshone the rest of the field by scoring 41 points and carrying on with his rich recent form. Like David Asquith, Mark has also got Frank’s attention. Rest of the field had varying scores between 22 and 34 with Tom Downey Not Returning his card. Well done Mark.
