Always seems to be a problem with the playing of the monthly qualifiers and today we arrived to see that the greens had been heavily top dressed.

This and the fact that there was a biting wind made many seniors turn tail and go home.
In fact the weather quickly warmed up and many of the greens were swept to the point of being very playable.
I did speak to Dave and he told me that it was a late decision to do the work mainly because of advantageous weather conditions which predicts some

rain tomorrow.
An early start was needed to be able to complete all the work required within the day.
With our Open imminent in May he is conscious of presenting our course in its best condition by then.

So in the end 44 players competed in the monthly medal playing in two divisions. As the scores are entered on the computer full results are available on the club website..

Winners and prize money is as follows:-

Division One (0 to 18)  Gross  Nett               Division Two (19 and above)     Gross  Nett

Mark Cording         84      71      £10          Jeremy Stephens               90     67   £10

Michael Banfield   86       72      £8         James MacDonald               99    75    £8

Philip Dewar        89      72      £4             Roger Withers                    97    77   £4

Well done everyone that competed today.

There was only one '2' recorded. A jammy chip in from off the thirteenth saw our Mr John Pearce scoop £22.00

Peter Spencer-Farr     Seniors Capt.

It looked like a 12 was the worst on the 4th Hole, but I know of another that was 5 off the Tee, then the 7th went OOB to end up NR,
4 Holes recorded scores of 11 and every Hole on the front 9 had scores of 8 and above !!!- Maybe the warm sunshine made the back 9 Easier with 2 of the holes only demanding 7 strokes, it was nice and sunny and like putting on the beach !

Not a single player made Par on the 10th Hole, how can they say it's not a par 5 ?

I'd love to hear the story of MR's

on the Par 3 16th
