Please take care that your vehicle is correctly Lit in accordance with the Highway Code.
Too many are arriving at the Club with Parking Lights or NO LIGHTS AT ALL - Due to reliance on them switching themselves on !!!!
But even if they do come on, they won't make use of your Rear Fog Light which is 21 Watts instead of just 5 Watts.
The sensors for automatic headlights rely on ambient light level rather than on vision and visibility as perceived by drivers so they will not always get it right. Heavy rain or fog during the day can reduce driver vision and vehicle visibility to dangerous levels but ambient light levels may remain sufficiently high to prevent automated lights from coming on.
A survey of 27,662 AA members found that overall 9% of drivers on the road rely entirely on the Sensor to decide when the headlights come on. That means potentially almost 1 in 10 vehicles invisible to other drivers in fog or heavy rain during the day.
Sidelights
According to the Highway Code the only situation in which you are permitted to drive with sidelights alone is at night on a road which has lit street lighting. Headlights must otherwise be used at night or during the day when visibility is seriously reduced.
Nevertheless almost a quarter (25%) of the drivers in our AA-Populus survey said that they drive with sidelights only when visibility is poor during the day and use headlights at night.
Don't be a twit - Flick that Switch.
Roll Up Friday 22nd February 2019
3 Man Texas Scramble (5 drives each and 1/6th handicap allowance)
Today we arrived in a Pea Soup which became a Mushroom Soup
on the first tee but quickly became a Clear Spring Vegetable Soup and a lovely
warm day for golf. Indeed the course played very well and everything is looking
very positive for the year. Quite a number of players did give up a bit
prematurely as the fog stubbornly lingered on until 10am, but things did
improve and was well worth the wait. By consensus the published format was
changed to a three man Texas Scramble and eight teams took part. Overall the
scoring was close and two team two's were recorded.
