Turkey Trot 2

We
were lucky again to be able to play in dry mild weather when the days
before and after were grim. There was a large early drop out with the
phone in the pro shop ringing off its cradle. I know that the club
website early on showed the course as closed resulting from the down
pours on Tuesday but it takes the green staff to have at least day light
before they can make an informed decision about play. As it happened
the course was fully open with only six temporary greens. Lack of
buggies is an understandable excuse for late withdrawal but I suspect
that many of this mornings absentees were fair weather players. Sorry
guys but if you do not want to commit yourselves to play in indifferent
weather conditions then please do not enter for drawn competitions.
There was a two division split of 0 to 18 and 19 and above.
Division one showed their class with the winning totals of 41 and 40
with division two winners getting 38 and 37. Play in general across the
board however was good considering the wet underfoot conditions. Many
will be having chicken again this Christmas but congratulations to Frank
Martin and Stuart Pope who will be tucking into,at least, a turkey
crown.
Prize money is allocated per division 1st £25, 2nd £15 and 3rd £8. There were eight Two's each paying £3.
