Sixty two seniors entered the Monthly Stableford
Qualifier and turned up at the club trying to predict the weather. Some wearing shorts but doubting it was the
correct decision and others more sensible.
Light showers were forecast from mid morning but
luckily we only had one shower.
Score cards were added up and checked and when they
were scrutinised by our Bob, he was surprised how many played below their
handicap. There were 20 who played to
their handicap or better. Some were at
the other end of the table. (No names of course).
Standard
Scratch was 68.
The start sheet on the blog said entry £1 plus 50p
Birdies. This of course should have read
2s. Bitter disappointment for those who
scored multiple birdies but elation for those with 2s on their cards.
The elated were Robin Flower (2nd), Trevor
Dobson and Bryan Frost (16th) winning £10 each.
