Seniors Open 4BBB Report

Hi, just got back from the club after what turned out to be a great advert for the golf club and in particular the seniors section who put on a very successful day, thanks mainly to Alan Davis who in the past few weeks (since our popular GM left the stage in a hurry), has rescued the Open and through a lot of hard work got the numbers back up to what we have come to expect, so thank you Alan. Of course he has had a lot of help in particular from Mick Aldridge who did all the printing for us, John Pearce for collating all the start times and setting up the screen in the bar for the Ladies to enter all the info, Keith for all his help on the desk working out our expenditure etc, Bob Barrow for checking the cards with the ladies, yes not to forget the Ladies section who worked tirelessly all day, again ladies what would we do without you on these open and charity days, Alan Chance who sets up the gazebo and stocks it with squash, bananas and apples plus the other guys, who were up the club at 7am and got away about 6 or 7pm.

The visitors who I spoke to were very complimentary about the course and the way it was
organised and they said that they will be back in September and again next July, of cause as
Captain I take full responsibility for the rain and Pete has said that he will put that right next year. 

Also, a big thankyou to all who brought up prizes for the raffle + cakes for the halfway house
and for everyone who entered to make it a successful event, I don’t have a final figure, but I know it was a good sum for our charity Clic Sargent.

I make no apologies for the above as it needs to be said how hard they work usually behind the scenes and we will be looking out for help in September and beyond, so step forward you younger guys as you are the future of the Seniors section.

John will produce the full results when he has had a couple of hours sleep!.
