- Advertising for opensFlyers are to be sent out to clubs in the south westAn advert will be placed on the Golf Empire web siteApproach CST for any information stored on the computerdata base to identify last years’ entrants so e-mails can be sent.
- Sponsorship of opens and club competitionsThere has been agreement by CST management for us to seeksponsors for the above competitions. Any donations will go to theCaptain’s charity. Alzheimer’s Research UK.
- Reaction and feedback re handicap reviewThe review was necessary to generally increase our handicaps asmost of the qualifiers played last year were reductions only makingus uncompetitive when playing matches.However there appears to be some inconsistencies with the review.This will be investigated and the review will be ongoing for several months
- May charity competition – latest positionAn interclub competition is being arranged for 4th MayThe format is 8 men teams playing 4BBB.Invitations have been sent out to 12 clubs of which some have sent cheques . A deadline of 31st Jan has been set for positive response fromthe rest before inviting other clubs. The entrance fee is £224/team.There will also be a raffle and a sweep to aid the charity amount.The captain will produce a Welcome Brochure for the day.
- Matches – Catering arrangementsVisitors for the first 4/5 matches will be notified that the dress codeis smart casual. Catering to be a bacon bap on arrival and sit down buffet after the match. This arrangement will be reviewed following thefirst 4/5 matches.
- Winter Golf-Pick and cleanDuring senior roll ups only members can pick, clean and drop withina clubs length when off the fairway. Dropping back on the fairway is not permitted. A full ruling will be posted on the notice board.
- Winter LeagueAny postponed Winter League competitions will be arranged to be played in March.
- Entry to Knighton Heath competitionIt was agreed that we should continue to enter above competition.The Somerset Bowl foursomes competition has also been entered.The club has also been invited to enter a team in the Jurassic Challengecompetition at Lyme Regis golf clubIt was debated and agreed that the minutes should be posted on theSeniors Notice BoardThere being no other business the meeting was closed at 14-30RF- Secretary.
