           Commitee Meeting      6th January 2016

     Minutes

  1. Advertising for opens
          Flyers are to be sent out to clubs in the south west
          An advert will be placed on the Golf Empire web site
          Approach CST for any information stored on the computer
          data base to identify last years’ entrants so e-mails can be sent.

  2. Sponsorship of opens and club competitions
          There has been agreement by CST management for us to seek
          sponsors for the above competitions. Any donations will go to the
          Captain’s charity. Alzheimer’s Research UK.

  3. Reaction and feedback re handicap review
          The review was necessary to generally increase our handicaps as
          most of the qualifiers played last year were reductions only making
          us uncompetitive when playing matches.
          However there appears to be some inconsistencies with the review.
     This will be investigated and the review will be ongoing for several    months

  4. May charity competition – latest position
          An interclub competition is being arranged for 4th May
          The format is 8 men teams playing 4BBB.
     Invitations have been sent out to 12 clubs of which some have sent       cheques . A deadline of 31st Jan has been set for positive response from
    the rest before inviting other clubs. The entrance fee is £224/team.
          There will also be a raffle and a sweep to aid the charity amount.
          The captain will produce a Welcome Brochure for the day.


  5. Matches – Catering arrangements
          Visitors for the first 4/5 matches will be notified that the dress code
     is smart casual.  Catering to be a bacon bap on arrival and sit down buffet after the match. This arrangement will be reviewed following the
    first 4/5 matches.

  6. Winter Golf-Pick and clean
    During senior roll ups only members can pick, clean and drop within
    a clubs length when off the fairway. Dropping back on the fairway is not permitted. A full ruling will be posted on the notice board.

  7. Winter League
    Any postponed Winter League competitions will be arranged to be played in March.

  8. Entry to Knighton Heath competition
         It was agreed that we should continue to enter above competition.
        The Somerset Bowl foursomes competition has also been entered.
        The club has also been invited to enter a team in the Jurassic Challenge
        competition at Lyme Regis golf club

       It was debated and agreed that the minutes should be posted on the
       Seniors Notice Board

       There being no other business the meeting was closed at 14-30
