Yellow Ball – 8th January
2016
Today’s Yellow Ball
competition was a clear demonstration why the Yellow Ball must be retained at
all costs. Played over 15 holes, Colin Ireland took full advantage of his
revised handicap scoring very freely for his team who ran out victors by 5
clear shots. By contrast, Bryan Frost, who scored on 14 holes found himself out
of the money.
Numbers were lower today due to the Funeral of ex-Captain Gareth Jones over at Yeovil. Ted Bryden is continuing to do really well. Today he was moved from Intensive
Care to the High Dependency Unit. They helped him stand for a short time, but
his blood pressure dropped so he had to return to bed. He's very tired, but has
managed to take some fluids and is generally not feeling too bad.
There were many more birdies
today than earlier in the week. Six birdies were scored each paying £1.50 per
team.

The
winners will be cut 2 shots and the runners up will be cut 1 shot from next
Monday for two weeks.
There
were two entries to the December Rolling Stableford.
Bob
White scored 28 points which will be extrapolated to 33 points as it was played
over 15 holes. Phil Hunt did not return
a card.
It
was very good to see Mike King back on the course today playing with David
Walgrove.
