3 Man Hassle  – 4th January 2016

With only nine holes playable and 15 players wanting to stretch their legs, it was decided to play a 3 man Hassle. Money carried over from a previous Hassle for a “2” provided added incentive today, but it was scorned again. So it will be carried over again to the next Hassle or Texas Scramble.

Pleading from the 2nd placed team made the Captain feel generous enough to pay two prizes, particularly as it was the Captain’s handicap which enabled his team to win.

There was some debate after concerning pick and place in the rough. This will discussed at the committee meeting on Wednesday after which a ruling will be announced.

Wednesday’s scheduled game is the 3rd round of the Winter League. Unless all 18 holes are open (which seems highly unlikely), this will be postponed until a later date. Please telephone and check with the club before you set off on Wednesday. An alternative game will be played which will be announced on the day.

Poor old Ted Bryden is back in Hospital on Wednesday to get his abdominal aortic aneurysm sorted out (operation) - which means he will be away for a couple of months so he has passed organisation of 'Pie-Night' to John Pearce . Ted says it would make him feel a lot better if at least 50 could attend so that he has a target to beat for his next social extravaganza - honest !

Christmas is definitely over now as Jackie was up there taking down the decorations today.
