2 from 3 – 6th January
2016
The
scheduled 3rd round of the Winter League was postponed today until
Friday, 22nd January as holes 8, 9 and 10 were unplayable.
Nevertheless,
36 members turned up to play a 2 from 3 Stableford. Conditions were ideal above
knee height but rather sticky underfoot. Everyone played off their club
handicaps, though from today domestic cuts will be applied for two weeks.
The
result was in doubt until the end. Bob Hollingworth’s team came in with 69
points to take the lead with only one score outstanding. Keith Branchflower’s
team then came in with 69 points, to win by virtue of a better back 8. There were
6 birdies each paying £3.00 per team

The
winners will be cut 2 shots and the runners up will be cut 1 shot for the next
two weeks.
December’s
Rolling Stableford was won by Ron Sutherland who wins £12.00.
From
today, it was announced that balls in the rough may be lifted, cleaned and
dropped within one club length only whilst winter rules apply. The applies to
Senior competitions only. Only one drop is permitted. This local “seniors only”
rule will be published in full on the notice board.
Following
today’s competition, a lively committee meeting took place, the notes of which
will be placed on the notice board in due course.
