Four early birds went out and managed 14 holes before the
rain won and three 3-man teams took part in a restricted nine-hole Waltz – with
the Captain tailing along playing a lone Stableford.
Another dozen came up and decided against braving the rain.
Roger Stone, John Wallis and Keith Branchflower won the day
with 34 points and the remaining two teams of Nobby Hodder, Phil Hunt and
Maurice Arnold and Brian Hodder, John Pearce and Bryan Frost both scoring 33
points, the honours going to the first team on count-back.
The winners took all and the second team took the birdie
money, with Maurice making birdie on the 2nd and 17th.
