Four Ball Better Ball– 19th August 2015
Slight
confusion today as the early starters followed convention and played off ¾
handicap but there was a mix of
handicaps in the later group. Many thanks to our scrutineer, Bob Barrow,
who revised the scoring for everyone to club handicaps. This made no difference
to the final outcome, but don’t be surprised if your score appears to be
slightly higher than that for which you signed.
My
congratulations to everyone for completing your round in pretty dire conditions.

The
usual domestic handicap cuts apply, two shots for the winners and one shot for
the runners up.
Yesterday,

1. Nick Hill and Keith Potter won 3 and 2
2. Ian Fielder and Robin Flower won 5 and 4
3. Stuart Pope and Bryan Frost halved
4. Roger Stone and Paul England won 5 and 4
5. Mike Dawson and Barry Singleton won 4 and 3
6. Barrie Heath and Nobby Hodder lost by one hole
Next
Wednesday, the scheduled event is the Battle of Britain. Unfortunately this
clashes with an under 14 boys county match which will start at 09:40. It is
likely that the Battle of Britain will be postponed to a later date but I will
endeavour to keep you informed. In any case, in order not to hinder the boys,
we will have to clear the first tee by 08:45.
