Blind Pairing

A slightly reduced field than
normal turned out for today’s Blind Pairing competition with just 13 pairs plus
one rolling stableford taking part. Scoring was somewhat mixed – nobody
returned par or below although 10 players made 30+ but the returns went as low
as the mid-teens.
The winners were Andy Beale
(joint highest individual on the day with 34 points) and Roger Stone (32),
second Alan Chance (31) and Bob Barrow (30) and third Mike Light (33) and John
Wallis (27). Also with an individual 34 points was Bob White who proved less
lucky on the pairings draw!
Three birdies were achieved:
Alan Chance/Bob Barrow; Frank Martin/Mike Hone and Bob White/Nobby Hodder.
Payout is:
First place: Andy Beale and
Roger Stone (needing to recoup his fortune on his return from holiday) - £12
which also attracts a two-shot cut,
Second: Alan Chance and Bob
Barrow - £8 with a one shot cut,
Third: Mike Light and John
Wallis - £6 clear and free.
£4 each team for the birdies.
