As of yesterday David Asquith took over the responsibility of Treasurer, I am sure you will give him your full support.

In addition to that

On behalf of the Cricket st Thomas Seniors Golf Members, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to Keith Branchflower for your service as Treasurer for the past 10 years. 4BBB Medalford.

So, almost 40 Rolled Up for this competitive  little 4-Ball Format. Team of 4 with 2 Playing 4BBB Medal and 2 Playing 4BBB Stableford.

So ideally, if Pair A carded a Nett 67 and Pair B scored 36 Points - the resultant A minus B would score you 31. Naturally Teams would like to score a bit lower than that, around 20 maybe.

Just to add to the mind-gymnastics, Andy Rowland - who thought he would be feeding Ponies in the New Forest by now - decreed we would use the Red Tees .

Thus , for example Hole 5 drops to a Par 4 and Stroke Index is 13 , but played from Red Tees which is a tad shorter. Into the wind & rain, this was a tough hole with average Medal Score of 5, with no shot    then maybe a 6 for 1 point for the Stableford pair - it would add 4 points to you overall which is bad !

So as we sat drinking more coffee, we expected the early rain to pass through and enjoy a pleasant 90 Degrees.

Oh No.

The rain did ease for a while but kept returning.  We got as far as 15th Tee when Klaxon sounded and course was closed .  Low Cloud was just above our heads and visibility was drastically reduced. Greens Staff circulated telling us all to walk-in.

As you can see from the Draw, a 3-ball went out first, courtesy of the Phantom Pro. In a 4BBB, however, Captain had to get a little Clever.

Unlike normal formats, say a 2 from 3 the Pro would just count his score twice if it was needed. But in this format it does not work if he is on his own as Team A or Team B. So in this Format Player chosen as Pro ( 1st Name out) is in Team A   AND Team B.

Captain tried very hard to conjure up a result, as the Earlies had done 18 holes and had a good soaking - but others ended on 12th. He tried to do a 12-hole but the cards were pretty unreadable and soaked. We had to put the 6 parts of our 2 cards into an envelope !
