Friday 23rd February 2024

Gentlemen,

On review of our roll up attendance, the club has allocated us 2 extra tee times on Fridays, we also can only have a maximum of 3 balls. This will take effect from 01st March.

However, with this, the club has said that we can no longer start from the 16th tee, as the mornings are getting lighter there will be people out on the course early.

There is a spring shotgun planned with the ladies which will provisionally take place on Monday 25th March. (to be confirmed with the club) it will be a 2 from 3 stableford with a 1 course meal afterwards at a cost of £15.

Our first home match is on the 19th March at home against Bridport. John Wandless is the match Captain and the team will be posted on the notice board next week.

Billy Hilson failed to win his argument with Mark Cording about how many Seniors had crossed the Turf. Despite Billy coming up with 32 names,   MC DQ'd most of them as he had distinctly used the words 'Recent Golfers' - so sadly People like Desmond Denning, a Members for 43 Years were cruelly discounted.  Des last played with us in November 2018

Des in 1984, when MC was just still a teenager..can you spot Ray Gudge - Club Captain ?
...and Brian Hodder is pictured I believe.
Upstairs in the Clubhouse - was still occupied by The Fisher Family in the Owners Apartment.

Looking at statistics, 15th was hardest hole but 4th defeated most teams , scoring 1 or 2 points into the wind.

One man scoffed at this, however, as Sir Clive Fisk, - fresh from 4 points on 1st hole - Clive bagged another Par on this hole ... 4 for 4 - Por Favor as they say...
..plus 3 points on 3rd, 6th, 8th, 12th  & 18th.

81 This year and this Private can  still stand to attention when required.

Thanks to the wonders of an excellent Nursing Team back home.

So many pictures of Clive in various outfits - but Seniors are very  appreciative of the efforts he puts in to raise money for our Charities over many years.

WhatsApp 24:02:24 - 06:33 - Mark Cording posted  .. "Clive Fisk - another Golfer I've never heard of"

Nick & Co approach 11th as course looks great with the sun shining - but veeeery wet underfoot still....

A superb 41 points from Roger Hinds as the Phantom Pro helped David & the two Marks secure 2nd spot, but there was no catching Roger, Gordon, Neil and Dennis with their 102 points.
