Many thanks to all who took part in the Ladies & Seniors
2 from 3 Bowmaker.
Excellent company, a good buffet and the course in great condition.
The speed raffle raised £211 to be divided between the Ladies and Seniors Captains Charities.
Nearest The Pin for Ladies on 8th hole. Unfortunately no lady managed to hold the green and the bottle of wine was drawn by card and won by Mairi Wandless.
Nearest The Pin for Gents on 16th was won by Clive Fisk with a superb shot to within 3 feet.
Overall winners were Jan Warner-Booth, ably assisted by Dennis Hussey and Keith Branchflower with 86 Stableford points.
Just Five Teams had holes where they scored 7 points, these 5 made up places 1 to 5 - so you now know the standard for next time.i

Barrie, Mark & Emma in 2nd place |
3rd on countback the England team with a Ruthless Norman conquest |
Earlier, on 16th Green Captain Wandless had made a big display of pacing out his own drive against Clive's that was marked as NTP. He took 2 big (big) strides to his own, compared to 3 ( small) strides to Clive's, then confirmed with a club. John knew full well that Clive was watching carefully from 8th tee , along with another trio on 17th. John then proceeded to miss the 4 foot put and we could hear Clive shouting "at least I got the Two" - as we strode off he said " he was much closer but I kinew he was watching !"
But Clive got his reward at the end. |
The Ladies had no-one on the 8th Green, although Mary Bryant was close as hers passed the flag and just trickled off the back - so Ruth picked out a card at random and embarrassingly picked out the Wife of JW - but Mairi had no problems in accepting the prize.
