We were greeted by gorgeous sunshine a wonderful view over Teignmouth and one of the best Bacon rolls I have tasted in a long time.
Thanks to Nick C for the picture and Mike, Norman, Ed for the other snaps...they all help to capture the day for the other Seniors..
Many thanks to all for staggering their arrival so that we could maintain a good degree of social distancing. The course was a challenge for some with plenty of heather and gorse to trap the occasional wayward ball.
It was evident the recent dry spell had not helped the putting surfaces and the fairways were so dry that the ball ran on for ever.
Your scribe played with Ian Thomas who is relatively new to the seniors section and he had a very steady round to win the day (and Three bottles of wine ) with a superb 42 points helped hugely by 2 two's one on the 7th and one on the 16th.
Second place (and two bottles) was taken by Andy Rowland with a 39 and John Evans(one bottle) was third on 37. We had nearest the pin on two par 3's and nearest in two on a shortish Par 4 David Mugridge took honours on one of the Par 3's and the Par 4 while Chris Rudling won the other Par3.
All nearest the pin winners received a
sleeve of balls.

2 FROM 4 DISCARD 16 APRIL 2021
Another nice sunny day, if a bit chilly in the shade. Chris Gingell placed a box on the table inside the front door and it appears all groups managed to find it. Even more impressive is he reports the cards were completed reasonably well apart from three incorrect handicaps. Perhaps we have turned a corner in card filling in.
Congratulations to the winners and those groups who had a two.
Next week sees a busy week with our monthly medal and two challenge cup away days. Let’s hope our bodies allow it.
Have a good weekend.
Mark
