Vice Captain's Yellow Peril Report
..something a little bit different...
12 teams of four played in near perfect conditions, in a
new competition which the rules took some explaining before the start. The basis was a yellow ball each and the
lowest handicapped golfers playing the first, fifth etc, with the next lowest
handicap the second, sixth etc. Given
that one team lost two balls, two teams losing one ball and the remaining all
returning four, indicates that reasonable golf was played.
on the 16th tee both teams still had all four yellow
balls. In fact their progress was
apparently HOLTED when one player still had his yellow ball playing his wedge
shot into the last green. Obviously he
will remain nameless, but not blameless.
To make things worse the trophy
was decided on count back, with it going down to the last three holes.
The winning team fired on three cylinders with the writer
of this report mis-firing, so congratulations to Ian, Rod and Tony for their
consistent and good golf.
