Captain’s Greensomes
Trophy Monday 14th September 2020
Let me thank all those who entered today’s Hole-In-One
competition. In total 31 agreed to enter this side competition knowing that it
was more than likely that all the money was going to our NHS Together Charity
than someone pocketing £155 raised. Thirteen people need to pay their £5
pledges and it will be appreciated if they pay by Wednesday.
Also a big thanks to those who made other donations as
well as prizes for this Thursdays raffles. Anyone who wishes to make donations
to our good cause, we shall accept them gratefully. I will be at CST from early
morning until way after my game.
Today’s Captain’s Charity Greensomes Trophy had 42
participants making £84 for our charity. There were a couple of adjustments to
be made to handicaps due to rules of handicap limits applied to this game.
Because we didn’t have as many low handicappers as high handicappers, we
allowed two high handicappers to participate as a team otherwise they would not
have been able to play. We therefore applied a handicap limit of 18 to member
with lower handicap. So if your scores are different from your recorded scores,
this is the reason. One pair were disqualified as they didn’t record their
scores or return their card.
There were two 2’s earning each player £5.25. The lucky
guys are:
John Wandless & Rod Young
Dave Mugridge & Andrew Campbell
Winners of the
Trophy were Keith & Edmondo with a very credible score of 42 points, John
Wandless & Rod Young runners up with 40 points and Dave Mugridge &
Andrew Campbell with a further point behind with 39 points. Keith ( our German
Bandit as I call him) wins his second trophy of the season and I am sure our handicap
secretary has his eyes on Keith.
