3 – Man Stableford – All to count

Match v The Dorset

Mr Beale at his 2nd favourite leisure activity today

Wednesday Golf - As the wet weather creeps in....

Wednesday may be a tad less 'organised' than hinted below. Course Maintenance has started and we will be on a lot of Winter Greens, Better if you turn up ready to go out on arrival as James doesn't think we can use Marquee.  Please - none of the usual 'nonsense' trying to Engineer your preferred 3-ball - it's only 1 to count and a bit of fun in what may be wet conditions.

" sorry, I'm not ready yet, I'll go out with Dave & Danny...

As per Golf prog, Captain will be up there early (08:15) - to  organise Early Players for the 08:34-08:50 Slots - Simple Game, 3-ball Stableford with just 1 score to count on each hole.so we are setting you a target of 50 Points !!

Later arrivals will be formed up for slots from 09:06 through to 10:34  ( 2 of these slots are pre-booked by others)..  so lets be nice and separate in the Marquee , pick a table and minimise the mingling please.

Friday is building well for the 3-ball scramble ( 40  45  signed up) which will be drawn Thursday PM - so sign-up on Club Diary Page , tell the Pro Shop or simply inform the Captain.

Monday is a 4BBB and JW has  set up on the Club Computer so that you can sign-up for single entry.

4 or 5  15 already found it.

Thanks JW.

Following Wednesday is another Qualifier , again open for 0n-line Sign Up.

Roll Up by Nick...

Whilst our finest were engaged in a match against the Dorset, 24 lesser mortals organised a 3 man Stableford competition. Undoubted star of the day was Bryan Frost on his latest toy. Best score of the day was 40 points scored by Edmundo Paoloni.

If you want to see how Bryan's new toy functions, just type Segway X2 Golf Cart on the Internet and watch some fun videos...have we seen the future of Golf here today...maybe not Seniors Golf as you have to stand up all the time.

From The Captain

I have been informed of unfortunate incident involving a senior member using foul and abusive language while playing with two other seniors as a team of 3 and leaving the course after 9 holes leaving his team unable to return a valid card. I must emphasise that this sort of behaviour is unacceptable and should  we have such behaviour occurring again, we will have no option but to expel the individual from the seniors section.

Monday 21st September Match report

On a glorious warm and sunny day we welcomed our friends from The Dorset for our first and only interclub friendly match of the season. It was a very good day as far as golf goes with our seniors winning with a score of 4 ½ to 1 ½. Coming from a course where the green sizes are up to 5 times larger than ours, the visiting team struggled to cope and never really managed to get the measure of the greens as far as speed was concerned. The funniest thing was they thought my putting was exceptional. LOL.
