As you can see it is a very busy time as Captain & his Team strive to complete all the Competitions we would normally play over a full season. Please look after your mates who just wander up to the club clueless and let them know that just strolling up for a roll-up is a rarity for the next couple of weeks. We'll print out a few copies of this so that they can be handed out.

..but there will be no time to rest as the following week is packed with the Captain's NHS Charity Together Week....

We have 11 slots for Monday therefore if anyone wants to play, they must let me know by Sunday 6 pm So that I can arrange the teams. The game format is going to be dependent on numbers attending. If I don’t get confirmations, then the draw will be based purely on the numbers confirmed.

Any slots left over can be taken by those who arrive without notifications and have a friendly round of golf amongst themselves.

For Wednesday 2nd September we have 13 slots and the format for that day will be 2 from3 stableford Yellow Ball. Similarly I will need notifications if you are intending to participate. Failure to do so may end up with disappointment of not being in the draw.

Friday 28th August 3B Scramble

With the weather playing silly buggers again 33 seniors turned up for today’s 3B Scramble. Despite constant reminders with notices such a above only half bothered to notify us of their intentions to participate. We managed to accommodate everyone with some difficulty and missed a couple of tee times. I can assure you it is not fun trying to arrange an organised event that is totally disorganised.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ARE NOT NORMAL TIMES AND WE DON’T HAVE THE FLEXIBILITY THAT WE HAD WITH THE ROLLUP EVENTS PRE_COVID. PLEASE HELP TO MAKE THE ARRAGEMENTS EASIER. WE ARE NOT ASKING YOU TO MOVE THE EARTH ONLY NOTIFY IF YOU ARE INTENDING TO PARTICIPATE.

Back to the game now. Apart from a couple of 10 minute showers, the weather held well and I can say we sort of got away with it again. There was an interesting find about Bob Barrow that I like to share with you. Apparently he signs off his text communications with F. Bob. For those of you with dirty minds, I must say stop it now. As it transpires, it means Farmer Bob. I bet you didn’t know that!! Being pretty proud of his new initials, he goes and sinks two long (15 yards) put and chip for the teams two 2’s. I bet you all want to put F. in front of your names from now on. I wouldn’t bother as Roger Hinds managed to get his two 2’s without having F. in front of his name.

..bit of a long story..but as we went down the 17th, and the rain fell heavily - Peter passed me his brolley to play his approach shot.  He fluffed it badly, took a huge divot - so I walked off to the green with his brolley and he had the long , wet, walk of disgrace to catch up with us.

It was funny to see Roger Hinds awaiting the arrival of a Drive from George or Mike...as he had already burned up his 5 drives AND the 3 spares....so the others had to take the remaining 5  Drives .

Not often you see a team of this calibre at the bottom of the field,,,must be a story in there somewhere...
