4BBB Roll Up

The Week Ahead

Friday Seniors Championship - See Start Times on  Internal Comps

Monday Battle of Britain - See Internal Comps ( Charity Event)

Wednesday - Roll-Up - 4-Ball Switched Medalford - so open to everyone turning up ( Early & Late slots)

Friday - Captain's Charity Greensomes - but watch this space as Captain may move to September ( only 24 booked in and many players unavailable)-

Monday 31st - wow ! - last Day of August is a Mates Day so anyone can join the Seniors Section and we will organise a fun game if we can  get Tee-Times as it is of course a Bank Holiday.

OK Gentlemen, time for some serious Golfing stuff from our Handicap Secretary John Wandless:-

The World Handicap System is upon us and the separate page dedicated to this subject will hopefully be updated directly by John. We have a few things to post over then next hour or so and then it's over to John - but I warn you it looks pretty complicated..unless I am being a bit thick !

England Golf have released the Course Ratings and Slope Rating of all golf courses in England.
CST current Course Standard Scratch of 69 will be replaced by the Course Rating of 68.6 off the White Tees, and 67.4 off the Yellow Tees.
The Slope Rating (degree of difficulty for handicap golfers) off the White Tees is 116, and off the Yellow Tees is 115.
Hopefully during September your new WHS Handicap Index (which doesn’t come into force until 2nd November) will be displayed along side your current CONGU handicap for reference purposes only.

Report

OK, slightly skewed headlines as most of those gathered were either sitting in their cars or sheltering under various protrusions of the Clubhouse.

Rain was exactly as forecast, with persistent drizzle, not expected to dissipate until past noon at the earliest.

Amazingly, 5 Earlies went out, Clive, Andy, Neil, Mark & David - see pictures.

Poor old Richard Agar rolled-up for the first time since March to give it a go, as did new boy Andrew Chambers. Vice Captain, Roger, Chris, Mo, Nobby were loitering with Captain & some of te Committee having a Meeting somewhere...

I gave it until 09:00 but didn't look very promising as earlies attempted to complete the top 9 at least. Nobby was waiting to go out, intent to take a buggy out - which seemed to me to be crazy on a day like this  !

Mark & David...just a walk in the park....
