Wednesday 29th July 2020 - Cricket St Thomas, Yellow Tees
By
the way Jubilee Silver Salver 3B Scramble on 29th July is now open for online
signup. Agree on team members and one of you go online and sign up.
Great little Comp for a nice Trophy - Plenty of players on their own if you don't already have a Team of 3 .
Texas Scramble Format, we are aiming for 66 Entrants - so let's see how we do.
Morning
guys
Let's have another go at getting the Rollup under way. Tomorrow's games is a 3B
medalford. I will use the tee times we have and may have to shift players
around to make it a 3B. Those who have a 2B bookings, please login and make it
a 4B so that others outside the group don't nick them.
James
James is using the CST Seniors WhatsApp Group using your Mobile Numbers, currently the Group has 39 Members who communicate regularly and are signing up for tomorrow.
Looking for Groups of 3 if you have them or just Individuals and he will organise.
Still plenty of Tee Times available to book.
I see he has already got James, Clive, Dave M, Roger, Farmer Bob, Martin L, Ian H, Norman, Gordon, Jeremy, Frank etc
If you are not in the 'Group' he can add you by request or just message him in some way to join the numbers.
Medal Qualifier
Before
I do today’s report, as mentioned in the previous posting, there has been
request for seniors shirts. We had 16 requests from the seniors section
specially the new members. I checked with the Pro Shop and was told that they
no longer stock FJ products and will not be able to get them and even if they
could, they won’t be able to get good pricing and more importantly may not be
able to get the correct colour. I have asked them to get pricing for the 3
brands that stock, namely Ping, Under Armour and Stuburt. Once I have the
pricing, I will inform everyone to make a decision on the brand and the colour.
Stuburt is likely to be the cheapest option. Let’s wait and see.
On another note, we previously
mentioned we are not likely to get our rollup slots back for a while if not
forever. We can take the matter into our own hands and book every slot that is available
during our old blocks as early as possible, or do away with rollups and just
arrange games in groups of 3 or 4 amongst ourselves as we have been. I tried to
do rollup games after the lockdown, but it became an impossible mission to
communicate with everyone to synchronise events. It was taking more than 4
hours a day work to receive communications via various apps, emails, telephone
calls and text messaging and not to leave out the verbal communication on the
course. I am going to give it another go
but simplify it by communicating via WhatsApp only. That is why we setup the
CST Seniors group. So anyone who wants to participate in the published Rollup
programme (check the blog) please join this group.
Another well attended event with 63 seniors battling for
money and honours. Personally it was pleasure playing alongside Barrie watching
him play so smoothly and sinking putt after putt. He had a total of 11 pars and
apart from a dodgy 7 on the first he didn’t score worse than bogy on the
remaining holes. Our divisional scores were quite impressive too. I believe it
was the lowest of the last 6 rounds with average for Division 1, 2 and 3 of
72.3, 75.09 and 73.5. As you can see from the scores, not much between the 1st,
2nd and 3rd placing. Well done to you all.
