Use the Seniors Contact list we sent you , it can be resent on request to john.pearce.windy@gmail.com

Did you know on Email - 'Case' is not recognised, so John.Pearce is the same as john.pearce  or JOhN.PEARce - but Passwords are of course 'Case Sensitive'

From Captain
Please add the following to the top of your fine instructions that you put on the blog

We are trying to go live as of Monday week, so if you "want in"  you better hurry and join in by loading the two apps and verifying. Once loaded please send me a message on 07810880530. We will be publishing information on the blog on how this is going to work by Tuesday. So if you want in, then you'd better have loaded the apps and registered by Tuesday. You must have a smartphone to participate.

OK Now - you need to pay attention:-
Our Captain James Siabi is going high tech to organise the Seniors whilst we await developments elsewhere.
We have to approach this with an audience averaging 76, not 46 so it may take you some time to get up to speed but we will try to help you.

He is chatting away merrily on his Mobile Phone using an Application called 'WhatsApp' - He has created a couple of groups with that, called 'Seniors Committee'  and 'CST Seniors'  - James has to invite you to join the group and you have to accept.
..but of course you need WhatsApp downloaded to your phone ( costs nothing)

Please be 'business-like' with your comments, replies, use of emojis (pics) etc - as there will soon be an awful lot of rubbish to trawl through otherwise and people will lose interest.

If you pass 'Go' and are up and running, then the next thing to do is to get into the Golfing side of things and again James has chose an App called VPAR to co-ordinate our rounds of Golf and enable us to start to have some fun.  It is a clever little app which has a 'Virtual' Score Card and Handicap - which will change as your rounds are entered.

So once more you are onto your phone and into the Apps store to download VPAR.

Once downloaded, chose 'Run'
Select Login via Email and create your Profile.

In your 'Profile' page there should be a list of 'Followers' and then 'Following'
Click on Following and then the magnifying glass (search key) and type James Siabi then select his name to follow , so that James is in Control of all the games and can keep statistics etc

Please be patient and give it a go, we'll try to help you but often typing things like

Seniors now joining us were born in 1965 - so we have to expect advances year by year !

Let's try and encourage more to join as Captain wants to start using this from Monday. If you cannot or don't join, you will still of course be able to play your Golf as now, but unable to join any organised competitions by the Captain as you need a VPar Registration to be able to be added to a Score card.
First, need to get your tee-times booked, so the Skipper can organise a comp.
Monday Tee-Times are now available for booking.

As soon as you have VPar on your Phone, you will have a free Course planner with all the functionality you always get with these apps.
Enter the Players name and all scores at each hole are entered as you go around. Just one player need to do this and no other paperwork is required, Captain will have access to your score card.
..but all Players need to be registered on VPar

No Cards required, no Contact required, Captain has data Automatically - ideal for this current situation so that your tee-time can be any time on a  Competition Day and it will all be gathered for him.

Great for any Away Days we plan, such as the Challenge Cup. We can all sit in the Clubhouse and see how people are getting on out on the Course .

Now David W always gets to the point - as he says, just imagine all the opinions that would be around these days :-

OK, just one more from Mr Sweet.

Slots avail:-
09:30 Friday 29th - John Pearce
Booked Dave Potter

Could you put on the blog that I am looking for some one to play with on Wednesday at 10.00. Yourself if you like or anyone who is free.
Thanks Bob Rees.
Taken by Edmundo who has released an 08:20 slot for Wednesday - so available to grab.

Now here's one to watch carefully and then consider how good you are at reversing with a trailer - slightly above my personal standards - so beware the bored German Engineer !

better than this guy !

The years go by and....

Cinderella is divorced...

Ray G sent me a long Email about the current status of a dozen of our Childhood favourite characters - but not easy to post here so I'll Email it to you by request.

Not a great start as I found myself in a 3-ball heading for the 1st tee  !
Turned out 1 person was given a slot by the Eggs in their draw but I had messed them up by booking the actual slot with the Club - so before you turn up to the Club, check the Club Website and make sure you are booked in correctly - what the Club shows is the only way you will get on the Course as they are controlling very carefully.

My apologies to the very grumpy Egg that had to return home !

Some are getting messages saying they have over 2 slots booked - so it is all being tightened up.

Eggs are being well organized by doing a random draw and then securing the bookings for Monday & Friday - so you have to be quick to get an early slot.

My partner played rock solid and even had his legs on display today,

Steady 38 Points for Alan I believe

I made good use of my hand-held 'bunker rake today - a gift from a friend !

farmer Bob and Roger have been playing together and amassing 4BBB Scores each time, several times over 40 points, but 5 under par today as they both made 37.

Bob & Roger are on the 10th Tee

We followed them all round and we back home in 3 Hours as spacing was excellent.

Captain Message
Friday 22nd May 2020

Fellow seniors, I have a couple of suggestions that I need feedback from you before we implement and adopt for the time being and maybe beyond. I personally when playing non-competition golf do not concentrate and end up not enjoying my golf. I am sure we are all happy that we are out on the course but if we could have some sort of completion it would make it more fun and enjoyable. VC Mark Cording is also in favour of running some predefined competitions. If you agree that we should have a form of organized competition with all the current restrictions in place then text “I AM IN” to 07810880530. Once I have enough feedbacks I will provide more details. As long as we get 10 or more positive feedbacks, we will establish a competition format and ask the participants to book a tee time as they are doing now. We will introduce an electronic score card that will be available to all those participating giving live scores, leader boards etc..

I have also created a group called CST Seniors on WhatsApp. I suggest that all seniors with a smart mobile to download it so that we communicate all aspect of our golf to each other and everyone in the group (Seniors golf related messages only please).

If you add my mobile number to your contact list then you will be able to join the group.

Hopefully we will have enough feedbacks to start the competitions rolling.

Regards

James Siabi

Just couldn't resist this one from Vulnerable Vic - beats the Morecambe & Wise Sketch by 50 Years.

Got another good one from ray that I'll add later.
