Lockdown Day 37
Another Thursday rolls in, along with the Mist & Rain - so nothing changes as the Ladies Days get the bad weather...
Heck of a lot happening out there and thanks to Mike, Ray & JW for all the various links to the Golf Authorities who are working hard to convince the Government that we can safely play Golf once they light the blue touch paper. Most of it looks similar to what we were playing from mid- March.
I can post one example here, but the Blog doesn't deal well with some postings so we'll leave you with the links so you can Navigate your own way around.
Nick also sends us a link to the Planning Application to improve holes 8,9 & 10 by changing the levels with imported 'Inert Soil' - but we will not comment here and leave you to contact Nick if you want to see the planning paperwork.
English Golf write:-
..but the Links from Ray, Mike & John are more detailed.

but there is plenty around for you to look for.

From Sir Clive in his private lane:-
Alan, Rosemary and (Bernice, Greek for “she who brings victory”)
That’s the 3rd senior I’ve met in 3 days!
Rosemary gave me permission to forward it to you.
Clive
Want some homework for today, here's a little test from Diana's English book from 1974....OOps - the first few viewers today may have seen all the answers...I'm getting old & daft !
Disappointing Day for me today as I was booked to give blood today and they cancelled me as an over-70 until July.
Why am I so disappointed - it was to be Pint Number 100 of my extremely valuable
O-Negative - which is the only Group that can be given to anyone , including new-borns where they don't know their exact grouping. But I'll try again in July.
James adds a bit of culture from the Persian Empire, where they show that in Iran, they too appreciate their Heath Heroes...
Our favourite hero is till working away on a cure....
"OK, let's try this, remove the Heart and everything stops - get me the Texas Govenor..."
Mike shows us what 38 Days of spring can do as the Collonade was not even in leaf when we started...
I can't believe that we are back onto our favourite topic - Golf balls with one from Jethro that we can actually use, thanks Eric...
where was Mike Yesterday ?
We'll end there for today, but got a load more from Eric that I'll add tomorrow.
Where are the pictures of you for 'Name the Frame' or you with a celebrity....
*********************************
Looking at this one graph on-line, seems to be the nub of all things as until they arrest the number of new cases each day, they obviously won't stop people dying a couple of week later. still almost 4000 new cases every single day !!!
but it's starting to fall at last....
I'm pleased to report that my Emergency yesterday proved simpler than I had feared. My Dishwasher had lost power and I feared the usual combination of Water & Electricity not mixing...but when I found the socket buried in the kitchen unit the switch was off - obviously flicked in my previous days hunt for Hobnob biscuits....what a relief.
Lots of stuff still coming in, including name the Frame and Clive's Initiative of Seniors and their Celebrity moments.
First, one I missed from yesterday, which is pretty damn impressive from a German Bar-Tender...
..it is golf related as it's about making that perfect shot, time and time again !
Lots of good stuff from Richard
Lovely one for "Name the Frame" today and I bet a lot of you pick that cheeky little face with the 'Eyes' exactly as they are today...maybe a little more blood...
..another one to come later...
One from Vulnerable Vic, from his Son in Hong Kong, with a question for you at the end...
Our first Music of the Day...
My son put me a poser. Which country was the spoof ABBA made in? He said there was a clue in the video. I said Ireland, buses driving on the left and the girls had that pretty Irish look about them. NO. It was ?????????? . The clue... the bin being put out. Yellow top for bottles. Local knowledge eh!
Richard ( foolishly) sent his Celebrity moment with our much loved Eric at Morecambe.
but luckily he sent another one...
Hi John
This was at Worcester races. I presented the bottle of champagne to winning owner/trainer to JJ O’Neill.
My Uncle sponsored the race.
Richard with his 'Lady in pink' Carol, remember her from all that fund-raising last year ?
OK, this is a great one from Name the Frame - who is this hairy-hunk on the beach ?
but it's starting to fall at last....

Wow - 08:33 and Farmer Bob has already guessed them both...... |
Bit of a test for you, another from Diana's old School Books
I've teasingly left tiny parts of the answers....
now if you've not been amazed by some of the submissions over the past 37 days, this one will definitely get you as a Man, a Golfer and as a Gambler..what are the odds ?
Nice one Captain James !
Eric warns us that things down the Pub will have changed forever when we return...
